FREE TIME ACTIVITIES NOTE: There is NO extended hang time the week of July 2nd-6th. During your extended free time off (see the above camp schedule) you have the chance to explore the Jackson area. You will have the option to eat dinner on campus if you so choose. Your camp director will give you instructions about this at the beginning of the week. You will also be given more specific information about places to go and things to do in the city to help you plan your afternoon this day. Until then, here are some ideas for your time: Renaissance at Colony Park 1000 Highland Colony Pkwy #5201 // Ridgeland. About 20 minutes from campus. Large outdoor shopping area including stores like Anthropologie, J. Crew, Lucky Brand Jeans, Barnes and Noble, The Apple Store and more. Restaurants include Five Guys Burgers, Sweet Peppers Deli and Starbucks. From campus, take I-20 East towards Jackson. Merge onto I-220 North to I-55 North. Follow to Old Agency Road, exit 105C, to Renaissance at Colony Park. Jackson Zoo 2918 West Capitol St. // Jackson. About 15 minutes from campus. The Zoo is located on 110 acres of land with over 750 animals. Group rates are available and can be purchased by calling 601-352-2580. Check them out online at www.jacksonzoo.org Mississippi Museum of Natural Science 2148 Riverside Drive // Jackson. About 20 minutes from campus. Located inside the Museum are a variety of exciting exhibits, including: a series of life-size displays of the state s diverse habitats, a 100,000-gallon aquarium network housing over 200 living species, and a 1,700-square foot greenhouse called The Swamp. Continue on US 49S and take MS-18E/MS-468 E/US-80 E to Bass Pro Dr. Mac & Bones Golf & Grill 1 Mac & Bones Boulevard// Pearl. About 20 minutes from campus. Play miniature golf at Mac & Bones! They also have drinks and snacks. Call them for group rates at 601-932-4653. Activities will also be offered on campus for those groups wishing to stick around.
