San Benito County Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau N e w s l e t t e r M a r c h 2 0 1 3 Diamond Sponsors Pinnacles National Park On January 11 2013 the Pinnacles National Monument held a dedication celebration, open to the public for the revealing of the new title Pinnacles National Park. The Pinnacles National Park is our nations 59th National Park. President Obama signed a bill designating the Pinnacles National Monument, the 59th National Park, on January 10, 2013. The Pinnacles was established in 1908 by President Theodore Roosevelt. Pinnacles National Monument is the 11th oldest national monument in the United States. With the signing of the bill, the 26,000 acre monument and is the first national park created by Congress since 2004. The monument is also home to 30 endangered California condors. Business After Hours A special thanks to Ausyamas Veterinary Hospital for hosting Februarys Business After Hours. On January 1st, Ausaymas Veterinary Hospital began a new year under new management. They continue to offer a full range of veterinary medical services and 24 hour emergency services to our local families with pets and livestock as well as those living in surround counties. For more information contact the chamber office at 831-637-5315 Nibble & Network The San Benito County Chamber of Commerce is hosting March s Nibble & Network presented by the Hollister Downtown Association on March 27th from 8:ooam 9:00am. This is an event that shoppers, merchants, and members can get to know each other. San Benito County Historical Society Civil War Days Meeting The San Benito County Historical Society is starting to plan for September s Civil War Days, September 13-15 ( one of their biggest fundraisers of the year) and they need volunteers to help (school day, parking, small fundraising activities throughout the weekend, etc.). They are having the first planning meeting on Sunday, March 10 at 1 p.m. Please try to attend if you can help. If you can t make it and are still interested, contact Don Pidd, Caretaker at donpidd@svn.net. They need help to contact all the schools (private, public, parochial, and home schooled) and start getting a possible head count so the Civil War re-enactors can plan accordingly. Your help can make this the biggest and best yet! Come Join the Fun At the Red Barn Run! This is a fun event for everyone. Walk or Run. Great live music and food. Beautiful scenery and spectator friendly. This event is open to the public. You are welcomed to come our and cheer friends on or just enjoy the post race celebration and festivities. N e w s l e t t e r P a g e 3 Chamber Office Services Certificate of Origin: The Chamber offers Certificate of Origin stamps- to its members at $10 per document. If you are in need of a certificate of origin stamp simply stop by the office during office hours and we can take care of it. Newsletter Marketing & Advertising: The Chamber has marketing and advertising opportunities in the chamber newsletter. The newsletter is emailed to the entire chamber membership the first week of the month. We also have copies of our newsletter in the office. It is a great way to get the word out about your business, organization or upcoming event. Flyer Insert (8 1/2 x 11 ) the cost is $75 per insert, for non-profits the cost is $50. Bulk Mailing Permit Usage: The chamber provides forms along with the permit stamp to all members. The fee is $100 is to use this service. Don t forget to set clocks an hour ahead this Saturday night for daylight savings time.
