Proposal to Taftie EWG A new Taftie EWG Task Force project: How to attract and nurture Hi Growth SME applicants to national programmes Showing that Taftie (cohesive) knows how to: Positively attract Hi-TRL/potential Hi-Growth SME winners Test SME applicants Filter them Evaluate their potential for growth Effectively define the best possible coaching support they need to succeed Culminating in a a special, small scale conference for the Task force conclusion presentation and debate Hi Growth SMEs in R&D conference in mid 2015 3

2. Hypothesis to research I. Hi Growth SMEs generate a massive contribution to National economic growth II. Hi Technology SME may not automatically mean Hi Growth potential III. Targeted coaching support may be more important to SMEs than financial support for technology R&D IV. National programmes have valuable output data that can be collated to identify best practice in attracting, filtering and supporting Hi Growth SMEs 4

Stakeholder Benefits Stakeholder Benefit Anticipated Taftie Demonstrates cohesion through collective research and collation of best practice in attracting, stimulating and nurturing Hi Growth SMEs to National programmes Showcases collective know-how by providing updated guidance National Programmes Adoption of this Taftie guidance helps de-risk an investment at a National programme level 5
