1 Request for Technical Co-sponsorship IEEE GRSS, May 2013
2 Fourth International Conference Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation Conference Montbeliard Belfort France 28th to 31st of October 2013. Technical co-sponsorship requested by Prof. Francois SPIES (University of Franche-Comté)
3 Scope Location Information of Devices in indoor environments has become a key issue for many emerging applications. However, there is no ubiquitous and straightforward solution. IPIN brings together experts in electronics, surveying and computer science. Researchers, system providers and users are invited to contribute with papers, presentations, posters, demonstrations, workshops and discussions to create synergies between different indoor positioning techniques. IEEE GRSS has technically co-sponsored IPIN conferences in 2010(Zurich), 2011(Portugal), and 2012(Sydney)

Many technics can be used to offer an indoor positioning system. Our conference wants to study all the issues which allows to navigate in such heterogeneous environment using any specific positioning system. Because, there is no universal positioning system which works always in all conditions, we also study hybrid solution combining two or more technics. User requirements Security & Privacy High Sensitivity GNSS, GNSS Indoors, IMES Signal Strength Based Methods, Fingerprinting Ultra Wide Band Passive & Active RFID Optical Systems Ultra Sound Systems TOF, TDOA based localisation Position estimation and algorithms 5 Framework for Hybrid Positioning Applications of Location Awareness & Context Detection Industrial Metrology & Geodetic Systems, igps Radar Systems Mapping, SLAM Magnetic Localization Innovative Systems

Other involvement of IEEE - Publication in IEEE Xplore - Special issue in IEEE GRSS journal (We want to submit a proposal). In case we can publish our best papers in your Journal, I think this will be a good opportunity to increase the memberships to GRSS. Abstract deadline: 24 May, 2013 140 abstracts has been submitted, and the organizer expects it will be around 200. 8
