Fehr & Peers Internship & Scholarship Program Fehr & Peers is pleased to announce its Internship & Scholarship Program, which provides work experience and a total of up to $10,000 each year to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo students who want to pursue a career in Transportation Engineering, Planning, or Design. Applicants who are offered an internship are eligible to receive a scholarship award. Typical individual awards will range from $1,500 to $3,500. Scholarship recipients should demonstrate enthusiasm for transportation, possess strong leadership and problemsolving skills, and show excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Selected recipients will be offered a paid internship or co-op for a specific duration, typically 3-6 months, at one of the Fehr & Peers offices. Upon completion of the internship or co-op, a pre-determined scholarship amount designated by the Fehr & Peers Scholarship Selection Committee will be paid to the recipient. This program will enable students to receive financial support while gaining valuable real-life professional experience in the transportation engineering, planning, or design field (typically $20/hr). Applicant Minimum Requirements Scholarship applicants must meet the following minimum requirements: 1. Currently enrolled at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo 2. Graduate with a Bachelor s or Master s degree within 24 months of the start of the internship. 3. Major in Civil Engineering or City and Regional Planning 4. Demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in transportation engineering (must be demonstrated through such things as technical electives, work experience, research involvement, involvement in student organizations, etc.) 5. Achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher 6. Able to secure and complete a paid internship or co-op with Fehr & Peers Application Requirements To apply for the Fehr & Peers Internship & Scholarship, please submit all of the following materials: Internship & Scholarship Application Form - Complete the application form in its entirety, including your signature acknowledging acceptance of the verification statement. Resume - Your resume should include your education, employment history, and extracurricular activities. Two letters of recommendation - At least one letter must be from a professor at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. The other letter can be from a person you know through academic, employment, or community leadership experience. Do not include relatives as references. Academic transcript - Include a copy of your current academic transcript. An unofficial copy is accepted during the initial application phase; however, an official copy will be required if you are selected during the final selection process.

Applicants will be reviewed and evaluated by the Scholarship Selection Committee, who will then select potential candidates. 2. Potential candidates will be interviewed by phone or in person for further evaluation. 3. An on-site interview will be conducted at one of Fehr & Peers offices for the final selection process. 4. An offer of employment for an internship or co-op and scholarship award amount will be presented to the selected recipients in writing. The Fine Print Fehr & Peers, at our sole discretion, may disburse more or less than a total of $10,000, including no award, within each calendar year. Individual awards are at the discretion of the Scholarship Selection Committee and typically range from $1,500 to $3,500. Internship and Scholarship availability is subject to the current hiring needs of Fehr & Peers. Scholarship recipients must accept and complete a paid internship or co-op at Fehr & Peers for a specific duration, typically 3-6 months. Scholarship recipients are subject to the terms and conditions of employment, including the requirement to submit proof of authorization to work in the United States. Anyone who is unable to abide by the terms and conditions is ineligible to receive the scholarship award. Anyone who is unable to complete the agreed-upon internship or co-op for any reason, including poor work performance will forfeit the scholarship award. The award will be disbursed directly to the recipient through payroll upon completion of the agreed upon internship or co-op. The award disbursement will be taxed at the individual s payroll tax rate. Fehr & Peers may at any time discontinue the Internship & Scholarship Program, with or without notice.
