U Lamar Community College Foundation Community Scholarship Information The Lamar Community College Foundation is pleased to offer community-funded scholarships. These scholarships are made available by local residents, organizations, and Colorado Foundations who support higher education and are interested in making a difference in Southeast Colorado. Students may apply for as many Community Scholarships as apply to their backgrounds, interests, and majors. Selection of scholarship recipients will be based on application materials only; no interviews are required. A student s receipt of other Lamar Community College scholarships/financial aid will be taken into consideration when applications are evaluated. GENERAL APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: A Usigned, personal letter from applicant explaining your career goals and qualifications to receive the scholarship. Two letters of recommendation. Official high school or unofficial college transcripts OR copy of high school diploma or GED certificate (whichever is most applicable). Copy of Lamar Community College Notice of Admissions (if Fall 2014 will be your first semester at LCC). Copy of GED certificate (if applicable). Daniels Boundless Opportunity Scholarships Adult students (age 22 and older) who demonstrate financial need according to FAFSA for Fall 2014 semester. Priority will be given to those who have earned their GEDs rather than a high school diploma. Daniels Fund Full-time or part-time Up to $1,500 per semester (fall/ spring) depending on enrollment status and number of applicants. Daniels Boundless Opportunity EMT Scholarships Scholarships for up to full tuition, fees, and books for students completing Emergency Medical Technician-Basic coursework. Must be admitted to LCC Nursing program and enrolled in Level II Nursing courses before scholarship is applied to student s account in fall of 2014. Prowers Medical Center Auxiliary Full-time each semester $500 per semester (fall/spring). # Available: Four (4) Rich Lovell Nursing Scholarship Scholarship was established to recognize and remember Rich Lovell, an outstanding and compassionate LCC instructor who had a love for healthcare. Scholarship is available to students entering Level II of the LCC Nursing Program with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Must be admitted to LCC Nursing program and enrolled in Level II Nursing courses before scholarship is applied to student s account in fall of 2014. Friends & Family of Rich Lovell Minimum GPA: 3.0
