Trustee Merit Scholarship Program
2016 TRUSTEE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM The Trustee Merit Scholarship Program provides scholarships based on ACT or SAT scores for new students who are enrolling full-time at MCCC for the first time and recent high school graduates who have dual enrolled at MCCC. Students must be Monroe County, Michigan residents, and their ACT or SAT scores can be no more than five years old. The scholarships are renewable for a second year based on satisfactory academic progress. The chart below outlines ACT and SAT score ranges for Trustee Merit Scholarship* awards. IT S EASY TO APPLY NO SEPARATE APPLICATION To be automatically considered, simply: Apply for admission by April 15, 2016 no separate scholarship application is required Send your ACT or SAT scores to the Office of Admissions and Guidance by April 15, 2016. Submit high school transcripts by April 15, 2016. If you qualify to receive the scholarship you must: Register for Fall Semester classes by June 30, 2016. HOW IS THE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD DIVIDED BETWEEN SEMESTERS? Scholarship awards are equally divided between the Fall and Winter semesters. ARE STUDENTS WHO HAVE DUAL-ENROLLED ELIGIBLE? Yes! Recent high school graduates who have dual enrolled at MCCC and earned college credit while in high school are eligible to receive the Trustee Merit Scholarship.
ADDITIONAL TRUSTEE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS Trustee Merit Scholarship students must be enrolled with a full-time course load, which is a minimum of 12 credit hours in both the Fall and Winter semesters. Awardees must successfully complete a total of 24 credit hours during the academic year. If a student does not complete the 24-credit-hour minimum during the Fall and Winter semesters, he or she has the option of utilizing the Spring Semester to fulfill the requirement. The scholarship is automatically renewable for a consecutive second year provided the recipient has completed a minimum of 24 credit hours with a 2.5 cumulative grade point average at MCCC by the end of the Spring Semester of his or her freshman year. Scholarships for any one individual will not be extended beyond two academic years. Students who are approved for the accommodation of a reduced course load through the Disability Services Office will receive scholarship funding that will be distributed proportionally. Scholarships for students with a reduced course load accommodation are automatically renewable for up to 4 years or completion of 48 total credit hours provided the recipient has completed a minimum of 12 credit hours with a 2.5 grade point average at MCCC by the end of each academic year, including Spring Semester. Enrollment in the Spring Semester is optional if the student fulfills the 12 credit hour minimum completion requirement during the Fall and Winter semesters.
