May 22 nd Senior Class Photo 1:00 Graduation Ceremony - 2:00 Mon. May 23 rd Semester Tests Senior Iris Monarrez donates blood for the first time at the NHS Blood Drive held Wed. April 20 th. There were 61 donors, 17 of them first time don0rs and 142 lives saved. Tues. May 24 th Semester Tests Last Day of School! Mon. May 30 th Memorial Day Sophomores Kayleigh Holland, Lara Hilpipre and Dalton Alexander give their presentation on Human Medical Experiments that took place during WWII. The sophomore class researches WWII in Social Studies and spends a day presenting their research.

Kiwanis Outstanding Senior for the Month of May Madison Cline Madison Cline is the daughter of Jennifer and Ken Cline and a sister to McKenna & Maycee. Her family attends the Saint Patrick s Catholic Church where Madison attends CYO. Madi keeps busy with school activities by participating in, SADD, NHS, Volleyball, Swimming and the Bears Dance Team. She in on the Honor Roll and is also active in ALPO. Outside of school Madi babysits, lifeguards and is a part of the Studio 6 Dance Company. She enjoys hanging out with friends, ranger rides and being at the lake. Next year she plans to go to college and work on her Elementary Education major with a special education endorsement. Kiwanis Outstanding Senior for the Month of April Kristy Ryan Kristy Ryan is the daughter of Don & Michelle Ryan. She has one sister, Kelly. Her family resides near Chelsea and they attend the Madison Church of Christ. While at BGM Kristy has participated in, Jazz, Cross Country, National Honor Society (where she served at Secretary), Yearbook and Bear Facts. She s also tried her hand at Speech & Track. She has received the All A Honor Roll title all four years of high school. When not in school, Kristy participates in 4-H, County Council and works for Poweshiek Pines Tree Farm as well as on the family farm. Next year Kristy will go to Northwester College in Orange City and plans on majoring in Spanish. She would like to thank her parents, Mr. Laguna and Mr. Mize for investing so much time into helping her learn.

Our 2015-16 Yearbooks Make It Count are scheduled to be delivered in and couple weeks. We d like to send one last big Thank You to our Yearbook Supporters! Students & Parents: Please check lunch account balances. All accounts should have a positive balance at the end of the school year. Seniors: Please check with Kay Dieterich to see if you have any balance due on class dues, shop fees or book rent. You also need to check with Mrs. Boesenberg to see if you have any library books that need returned. You will not receive your cap and gowns until your balance is paid in full and all books are returned. Thank you! Elementary Track & Field Day will be held on Friday, May 20. BGM Music Parents Beginning next school year, Miss Grout and Mrs. Siefkas will have a running music department website and newsletter to help keep all parents and community members updated on our classes, concerts, and extra activities. Please look for an email with this information in the fall. The BGM Music Boosters would also like to invite all music parents to become involved in the Music Boosters. There is no fee for joining. Our meetings are usually the first Monday of the month at 5:45 PM. We are in constant need of more parent support to help with all of our activities, trip planning, and fundraising. Please consider joining this group next fall. Job Opportunity BGM Community Pool is in need of lifeguards for the summer. Applications can be picked up in the high school office. Alondra Hernandez Competes in the Congressional Art Competition As of late April, sophomore Alondra Hernandez had entered an original piece of artwork to be judged for the Congressional Art Competition. She will be competing against a large number of students all across the state of Iowa for a chance to have her artwork displayed in the White House for a year, along with the other winners from other states. The first place winner will receive roundtrip air-fare to the Congressional Art Competition Winner s Reception in Washington D.C and the artwork will be displayed at the United States Capitol for one year. The second place piece will hang in Congressman Rod Blum's office in Washington D.C. for one year. The honorable mentions pieces will hang in Blum's district offices around the state. Her piece is titled, Between Man and Earth, and uses a combination of watercolor, charcoal, and acrylic paint. The winners from the state of Iowa will be announced at a gallery reception on May 4th held at the University of Northern Iowa.
