19th Annual Pediatric Board Review Symposium Dear Colleague: I am pleased to invite you to the 19th Annual Pediatric Board Review Symposium,, held at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio. Symposium Director Camille Sabella, MD Associate Professor of Pediatrics Center for Pediatric Infectious Diseases Pediatrics Institute Children s Hospital Cleveland Clinic Cleveland, OH Lectures will be provided by Cleveland Clinic staff and specially invited guest faculty. Full faculty listings will be provided in the coming weeks at: I want to thank you and your staff for a well organized review. Without your help, I wouldn't have been successful in passing the boards. Thank you again! C. Ruffin, MD, Alabama Tremendous review for my practice. Ryan Jacobs, MD The objective of the symposium is to provide a comprehensive pediatric board review to prepare you for board certification or recertification. The quality and breadth of symposium content is also attractive for individuals needing a comprehensive review of basic pediatric clinical information. There are several unique features that set this review above the others. These include the use of an anonymous audience response system, which allows attendees to gauge their knowledge base and become familiar with board-type questions while attending the symposium. This format also allows the lecturer to introduce topics in a question and answer format and to stress board examination-relevant information. In addition, there are general pediatric and specialty-specific board simulation sessions, during which board relevant questions/answers and rationale will be discussed. Attendees registering for the symposium can purchase, as part of their syllabus material, the new 4th (2013) edition textbook, The Cleveland Clinic Intensive Review of Pediatrics textbook for $79. This text, which is based on this Symposium, is the first comprehensive textbook to specifically focus on pediatric board review certification and recertification. We hope that you will join us for what promises to be a memorable educational event. If you need further information about the symposium, please feel free to contact me. Camille Sabella, MD Symposium Director Gain Knowledge from these Objectives Acquire the core knowledge necessary to pass the pediatric board examination or recertification exam; Devise a differential diagnosis for a specific patient presentation; Interpret laboratory findings for a host of clinical presentations; Construct a therapeutic plan for a specific patient presentation; Identify areas of knowledge deficit or weakness. Who Should Attend? This symposium is directed to physicians preparing for pediatric board certification or recertification and physicians desiring a comprehensive update of basic pediatric clinical information.
