The MS Statewide ESF8 Healthcare Coalition and the 9-Planning Coalitions Definition: A collaborative network of healthcare organizations working in conjunction with Emergency Management and respective public and private sector response partners to serve as a multi-agency coordinating (MAC) to assist with preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities related to healthcare organization disaster operations.
The MS Statewide ESF8 Healthcare Coalition and the 9-Planning Coalitions Purpose: The Healthcare Coalition and Planning Coalitions, working in conjunction with Emergency Management, provide a healthcare system-wide approach to prepare for, respond to, and recover from incidents that have a public health and medical impact in the short and long-term.

MS Statewide ESF8 Healthcare Coalition (MEHC) Purpose: During larger responses, provide state agencies and state-wide associations with accurate and up-to-date information, to anticipate needs and make recommendations to their local members being impacted and to be informed as they work with their county Emergency Manager.
