The International Conference on Knowledge and Innovation - ciki is an international event that aims to promote the conceptual, methodological development and practice of Knowledge and Innovation Management. Throughout its history, ciki has been used as a space to exchange ideas, experiences and relevant trends for knowledge and innovation management, in the public, private and academic sectors. ciki is a regional event promoted by the graduate program in Engineering and Knowledge Management at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina - UFSC, the Science and Technology Park - TECNOPUC at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul - PUCRS and the College of the Americas COLAM, a program created by the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education IOHE, in partnership with many higher education institutions and organizations in the Americas. ciki-2016. Accelerating Innovation: Decisive Factor for Social Development Themed as "Accelerating Innovation: Decisive Factor for Social Development", the sixth edition of ciki will be held in Bogota, Colombia, from october 31 st to november 1 st 2016, coordinated by COLAM. ciki-2016 focuses on a set of strategic issues that enable the effective promotion of innovation processes in the region and compensation for the poor development and low rates shown by Latin America in this field. This event will provide a space for the exchange of new models, trends, paradigms, approaches and methodologies that turn knowledge into innovation, and the exchange of experiences and good practices to boost innovation in the public and private sector, academia, and civil society.
