General Information - RTB CPTs are the only Congressionally mandated Infantry Captain positions in the Army (Required 90% priority fill) - 2 year assignment: Usually 1 year as Platoon Tactical Trainer (PTT), 1 year as staff officer
Prerequisites - Active Duty Infantry Captain (Armor officers are eligible) - Airborne and Ranger qualified - Successful at Ranger School (we don t care if you recycled every phase) - Solid manner of performance in last unit (OERs) - Must be able to meet Ranger physical fitness minimum standards: 70% APFT (17-21 year) + 6 chin-ups, 5 mile run in 40 minutes or less, 12 mile foot march in 3 hours or less - Vehicular or non-vehicular background has no bearing who gets hired (our officers and NCOs represent all units in the Army)
Platoon Tactical Trainer (PTT) - CPT undergoes a 60-90 day certification process and becomes a fully certified Ranger Instructor - Responsible for the conduct of training for a Ranger Training Platoon - Platoon Trainer will: Ensure quality control of doctrinal training and enforce safety standards Teach blocks of instruction Counsel and evaluate Ranger Instructors and students Have additional responsibilities (unit specific)
