Scholarship Application Application Due Date: June 16, 2017 Capital One STEM Need Based Scholarship 1. DEADLINE for scholarship applications is June 16, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. (NO EXCEPTIONS) 2. Scholarships are awarded annually provided funds are available. In addition, the scholarship may be renewed provided the award recipient meets the criteria outlined below. SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS The BRCC Foundation/Capital One Need Based STEM Scholarship awards on the basis of a comprehensive process. Scholarships are awarded each semester and will be continued each semester if the student maintains a 2.3 GPA. Scholarships awarded are based upon the availability of funds and additional qualifying criteria. CRITERIA Applicants must be completing or have completed high school successfully with a minimum GPA of 2.3 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must demonstrate a need for financial assistance. Applicants must be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States. Student must apply for the 2017-2018 Federal Student Aid Application (FAFSA). Student must submit a copy of their 2017-2018 Student Aid Report (SAR) Applicants must complete and submit a scholarship application by June 16, 2017. 1
Required Documentation SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS MUST PROVIDE: Completed application form. Official high school transcript in a sealed envelope from the institution. (First year students only) A copy of your ACT or SAT score sheet. (First year students only) One letter of recommendation from a Faculty Member, Single Stop Program Director, School Counselor, or Administrator. A letter of recommendation from an employer or other community member. Proof of enrollment at Baton Rouge Community College. Deadline for the application is June 16, 2017.
