PRESS RELEASE Christopher Protsman Chief of Police Released: August 29, 2017 POLICE BLOTTER Monday, August 21, 2017 0742 An officer responded to 120 E Dorothy Ln #1 on a theft of a gun. The resident discovered her gun was missing, and suspected her son took it to school; SRO s responded to Fairmont HS, where the son was located with the gun inside his backpack. The.25 cal handgun was not loaded. Chris Patterson, b/m, 14, was arrested for illegal conveyance/possession of a deadly weapon and theft. He was transported to JDC. 2017-42282 1338 An officer stopped a vehicle in the lot of 2609 Dixie Dr for no front plate. Upon contact the driver appeared very nervous, and admitted he had a loaded handgun in the glove compartment. Rami L. Mustafa (W/M/23) was placed under arrest for improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and transported to KPD jail. 2017-42346 1601 An officer recognized a subject he knew to have a warrant in front of 5468 Kettering Square N. Upon confirmation, Taj M. Williams (B/M/25) was placed under arrest for the Moraine warrant for FTC on expired tags. Williams was also issued a summons for drug possession (marijuana). He was transported to KPD jail without incident. 2017-42378 1727 Officers responded to the area of the McDonald s at 2901 Wilmington Pk on a menacing complaint. Ptl. Burian located the subject near Wilmington and Smithville. Upon investigation Kevin L. Bowling (W/M/44) was placed under arrest for Aggravated Menacing and transported to KPD jail. He

was also issued summons for Trespassing, Disorderly Conduct and Drug Possession. 2017-42400 2210 An officer conducted a traffic stop at Dorothy and Hilton, using in-car data systems to determine the driver s identity and that he had no license and possible warrants. Upon confirmation, Renedale R. Martin (B/M/27) was placed under arrest for two MCSO warrants: child support and criminal damaging. He was transported to KPD jail without incident. 2017-42454 Tuesday, August 22, 2017 0032 An officer conducted a traffic stop in the lot of Krogers, 2115 E. Dorothy Ln for a moving violation. Upon speaking to the passenger, Justin W. Risch Sr (W/M/36) he learned of an active KMC warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia. Risch was arrested without incident. 2017-25145 0131 An officer observed Jacob A. Kessel (W/M/28) walking on E. Dorothy near Woodman Dr. Knowing he had an active felony probation warrant, the officer stopped and subsequently arrested him. 2017-42668 1730 Officers responded to 1824 Culver on report of a subject with a warrant and a missing juvenile at the home. Upon arrival the male with the warrants ran from the home but was located near Watervliet and Ferncliff. Upon confirmation, Daniel Gulley (W/M/18) was placed under arrest for the KMC warrants for fleeing and DUS, and also charged with Obstructing Official Business. He was transported to KPD jail after receiving medical treatment for injuries he incurred while fleeing. Gulley s girlfriend Hannah E. Porter (W/F/17) was placed under arrest for a JDC warrant for FTC on unruly charge, and transported to JDC. 2017-42600 1957 An officer conducted a traffic stop at Smithville and Ewalt for an equipment violation. Upon investigation, the driver Christopher L. Kniess (W/M/46) was placed under arrest for possession of schedule II drugs and transported to KPD jail. 2017-42627 2138 An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor traffic violation observed on Woodman near Forrer. The driver, Darren L. Johnson (W/M/20), was found to have a warrant through Brown County for

Burglary. Johnson was arrested upon confirmation and during the inventory search a marijuana pipe was located, for which Johnson was issued a summons. 2017-42836 Wednesday, August 23, 2017 0134 Officers stopped a vehicle for a minor traffic violation in the area of E. Dorothy and County Line Road. The female driver was found not to have a driver s license. The male passenger provided identification information that was found to be false. Upon obtaining the true identity, it was found he had 3 warrants (1 through Kettering and 2 through OSP). Mark E. Seagraves (B/M/36) was then arrested for Obstructing and the 3 warrants. During the inventory search a bag belonging to Seagraves was found to have marijuana paraphernalia and multiple baggies containing cocaine. He was then arrested for felony drug possession. 2017-42871 0230 An officer was dispatched to the BP at 3000 Linden Ave to meet with MCSO on a warrant service. Upon arrival, he took custody of Terry D. Robinson (B/M/28) on an entered Kettering warrant for FTC with an original charge of DUS. 2017-22299 1836 An officer conducted a traffic stop on Westlawn Dr. / Polen Dr. based on the registered owner showing an active warrant. Upon investigation, she found Michael W. Franklin (W/M/29) to be operating the vehicle. Franklin had an active warrant through Wood County S.O. for Debtor Exam Contempt. The warrant was confirmed and Franklin was taken into custody. He was transported to KPD Jail without incident. 2017-42801 2304 An officer was dispatched to the rear lot of the Kettering PD, 3600 Shroyer Road, to assist with an intoxicated man. Upon arrival, he found Justin A. Burris, (W/M/31), too intoxicated to care for himself. Burris was arrested and taken into the Kettering PD Jail. 2017-43036 Thursday, August 24, 2017 0026 An officer stopped a vehicle for No Front License Plate on W. Stroop and Dogwood. The driver, Pierre D Johnson, (B/M/26), was found to be DUS. Johnson had an active warrant from Hancock County. He also had

marijuana in his pants. Johnson was arrested and transported to the Kettering PD Jail without incident. 2017-43048 0104 An officer was dispatched to the K-Mart, 4480 Indian Ripple Rd for a warrant service. When he arrived he took custody of Kyle C. Richardson (W/M/21) for the entered Cultivation of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana warrants. 2017-23946 0516 An officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on Patterson and Crauder. He found that the driver, Rashima D. White, (B/F/39), had an active warrant from Trotwood. White was arrested and transported to the Kettering PD Jail without incident. 2017-43064 Friday, August 25, 2017 0611 Officers met a subject in the lobby who wanted to turn himself in on a felony warrant. The MCSO Warrant was confirmed, original charge of Agg Poss of Drugs, and Donald R Kelly, w/m, 34, was arrested and transported to MCSO Jail. 2017-43285 0840 Officers responded to the area of E. David Rd. and Renwood on the report of an intoxicated man. Upon arrival, Milton R. Borden, (B/M/41), was located, and arrested for DCPI. 2017-43492 1555 Officers responded to 2921 California on a warrant service. Upon investigation, they located Larry A. Pertee (W/M/43). Pertee had an active warrant through Huber Heights for FTA on DUS and Traffic Violations. The warrant was confirmed and he was taken into custody. It was suspected that Erica Hardy (W/F/29) was also at the residence. Hardy also had active warrants for her arrest. Pertee refused a consent search and denied that she was at the residence. Hardy eventually complied with verbal commands and exited the residence. Her warrants (Kettering FTA / No OL and Improper Display of Plates and MCSO Aggravated Possession of Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia) were confirmed and she was taken into custody. Pertee was additionally charged with Obstructing Justice. 2017-43171; 2017-29546

2236 An officer conducted a traffic stop on Dorothy at Rushland for a moving violation. Upon investigation, he found Brandon M. Burkhart (W/M/24) as a passenger in the vehicle. Burkhart had an active warrant through Miami County for FTA / Tampering With Evidence and an active warrant through Englewood for FTA / Disorderly Conduct. The warrants were confirmed and he was taken into custody. Additionally, Burkhart was found to be in possession of a syringe and was issued a summons for Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments. 2017-43248 Saturday, August 26, 2017 1526 Officers were dispatched to 3719 California Av. on the report of a Trespassing. Upon their arrival, they located Chelsey Fitzwater (W/F/23). Fitzwater had two active warrants through Montgomery County for Probation Violations. The warrants were confirmed she was taken into custody. She was transported to KPD Jail without incident. 2017-43345 1545 An officer located Shawn D. Crider (W/M/50) near 533 Telford Av. Crider had an active warrant through Kettering for FTC on the original charge of Criminal Trespass. The warrant was confirmed officers took Crider into custody. He was transported to the KPD Jail without incident. 2017-30882 Sunday, August 27, 2017 0216 An officer was dispatched to 2331 Shelterwood Dr for a suspicious vehicle complaint. Upon arrival, he located Gretchen M. Lammers (W/F/51). She was in the driver s seat of a vehicle and found to be intoxicated. She was arrested for Physical Control and issued a summons for Open Container in a Motor Vehicle. 2017-43592 1522 An officer was dispatched to the Greene County Jail to take custody of Steven Line (W/M/22) who had a Kettering warrant for his arrest for FTC / original charge of DWOC. He was taken into custody and transported to the KPD Jail without incident. 2017-22942 ###
