Tuition & Expenses This guidelines is written in Korean language and translated to English and Chinese. In case of any conflict about the meaning of this guidelines, the Korean version shall prevail over any translation.

Ⅰ. Qualifications. Nationality and Academic Requirements ) Freshman Applicants All applicants must meet both of the following requirements: () Applicants have graduated or are expected to graduate from accredited primary and secondary schools overseas (2) Applicants and their parents are foreign nationals without Korean citizenship 2) Transfer Applicants In addition, transfer applicants must meet one of the following requirements: () Applicants have completed or are expected to complete at least 2 years of a 4-year undergraduate degree program with at least 50 percent of the credits required for graduation at an accredited Korean or foreign university with good academic standing (2) Applicants have graduated or are expected to graduate from a 2- or 3-year associate degree program at an accredited Korean or foreign college with good academic standing 2. Language Proficiency Requirements All applicants must submit one or more of the following documents: ) TOPIK report with Level 3 or above 2) Korean Language Program Completion Certificate issued by Konkuk Language Institute with Level 3 or above All students must acquire TOPIK Level 4 or above to graduate. 3. Important Notes ) Admissions for both freshman and transfer students require academic records from schools accredited under the education laws of their respective countries. The following courses and exams do not meet the requirement: language courses, university preparatory courses, continuing education courses, adult university courses, correspondence courses, online courses, high school diploma equivalency exams in the U.S. or Canada (e.g. GED), and China s Higher Education Self-taught Examination ( 高等教育自学考试 ). 2) Applicants with Korean citizenship (or a parent with Korean citizenship) cannot apply for Konkuk University s undergraduate program as an international student, even if he/she (or his/ her parent) has citizenship of another country. Applicants (or parents) who gave up their Korean citizenship must provide certificate of resident registration cancellation as proof of evidence. Please apply for the Department of Global Business instead [Note 2] Civil & Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic & Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Software, Aerospace Information Engineering, and Industrial Engineering departments run Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea (ABEEK)-certified programs. Students in such departments must fulfill all ABEEK requirements to graduate. [Note 3] Due to Korean Language Course requirements, transfer students may not be able to graduate within 4 semesters [Note 4] In order to apply for a dual-degree program, an applicant must be enrolled at a foreign university that has signed an agreement with Konkuk. The applicant can only apply for a department (or major) specified in that agreement [Note 5] An applicant can apply for two departments (majors) as first preference and second preference. Online Application ) Period: April 30, 208, 9.30 a.m. May 23, 208, 5 p.m. Korea Standard Time (KST) 2) Website: www.uwayapply.com (Direct link: http://ipsi.uwayapply.com/foreign/konkuk/?cha=2) 3) Application Category ( 지원구분 ) on the Application Form Choose Freshman ( 신입학 ), Transfer ( 편입학 ), or Dual-Degree ( 복수학위 ) first, then select College ( 대학 ) and Unit ( 모집단위 ). 4) Applicants cannot apply for a major related to their native language. For example, a Chinese student cannot apply for the Department of Chinese Language & Literature. 5) Applicants should upload their color photo taken at a studio for the online application. 6) All required spaces must be filled out on the online application. 7) Applicants should provide their valid and frequently-used email address. The balance should be maintained for more than 6 months. Only bank statements of time (or term) deposits should be submitted. Bank statements of savings account are not valid. If an applicant submits the bank statement of someone other than himself/ herself or one of his/her parents, he/she shall submit the 재정보증서 (Affidavit of support which can be downloaded from the UWAY APPLY website) and Identification card of the person who will serve as a financial guarantor. Language Proficiency Requirement Submit at least one of the following requirements: TOPIK score report with Level 3 or above OR Korean language program completion certificate with Level 3 or above by Konkuk Language Institute Certificate from TOPIK website (http://www.topik.go.kr) is also accepted. The certificate must have been issued in the past two years to be considered valid. Applicants who will be taking the 57 th TOPIK exam on April 5, 208 can apply for admission. Upon application, he/she shall submit a registration ticket. And a certificate shall be submitted by May 25, 208. Korean language program completion certificate The official certificate must include grades and attendance. Original document will be returned. Certificates involving extracurricular activities after high school graduation if they lasted more than a year USB drive with a demo reel: Applicable to Department of Film and Moving Image- Acting applicants. 6 KONKUK UNIVERSITY Applicants who graduated from a high school and/or university in China must also submit certificates issued by China Academic Degrees & Graduate Education Development Center (www.cdgdc.edu.cn) or China Higher Education Student Information and Career Center (www.chsi.com.cn). Applicants who graduated from a high school in mainland China must submit - Photocopy of their high school diploma - Original copy of their high school transcript - High school graduation exam certificate ( 高中会考合格证认证 ) issued by CHSI in English Applicants expecting to graduate from a high school in mainland China must submit - Original copy of certificate proving that the applicants are expected to graduate from high school - Original copy of their high school transcript - High school graduation exam certificate ( 高中会考合格证认证 ) issued by CHSI in English Applicants who graduated from a two- or three-year college in Korea must submit - Photocopy of their high school diploma - Original copy of their high school transcript - High school graduation exam certificate ( 高中会考合格证认证 ) issued by CHSI in English - Original copy of their certificate of graduation - Original copy of their college transcript Applicants who are expected to graduate from two- or three-year college in Korea must submit - Photocopy of their high school diploma - Original copy of their high school transcript - High school graduation exam certificate ( 高中会考合格证认证 ) issued by CHSI in English - Original copy of their certificate of enrollment and certificate of expected graduation - Original copy of their college transcript Applicants who graduated from a three-year college in mainland China must submit - Photocopy of their high school diploma - Original copy of their high school transcript - Photocopy of their college diploma - Translated and notarized copy of their college transcript - Verification Report of China Higher Education Qualification Certificate ( 中国高等教育学历认证报告 ) issued by CHSI in English Applicants who are expected to graduate from a three-year college in mainland China must submit - Photocopy of their high school diploma - Original copy of their high school transcript - Original copy of their certificate of expected graduation - Original copy of their college transcript Applicants expecting to graduate from a four-year university in mainland China - Photocopy of their high school diploma - Original copy of their high school transcript - High school graduation exam certificate ( 高中会考合格证认证 ) issued by CHSI in English - Certificate of enrollment ( 大学在读证明认证 ) issued by CDGDC in English - Translated and notarized copy of their university transcript [Note ] Admitted students who were expected to graduate at the time of application must submit a copy of their certificate proving that the applicants are expected to graduate from high school and a copy of transcript by August 3, 208. (Newly matriculating students: original transcript written in Chinese & Transfer students: notarized transcript). If required documents are not received by the deadline, the university will rescind admission. [Note 2] While certificates ( 会考合格证认证, 会考成绩认证, 中职毕业证认证 or 中国中等教育学历认证报告 ) can be submitted by August 3, 208, the Standard Offer of Admission required for visa will not be issued until the certificate is submitted. If required documents are not received by the deadline, the university will rescind admission. [Note 3] Transcripts certified by a Korean Consulate are not accepted. [Note 4] Transcripts of transfer students must list the number of credits for each course as well as total credits. [Note 5] Students having difficulty getting their original transcripts issued should submit notarized translations of them.

Also, they should submit a copy of their diploma certified by a Korean Consulate and a transcript (Newly matriculating students: original transcript written in English & Transfer students: notarized transcript). If required documents are not received by the deadline, the university will rescind admission. [Note 2] Documents No. 20-22 requiring Apostille or Korean Consulate certification can be submitted by August 3, 208. Konkuk University will not issue the Standard Offer of Admission required for visa until the documents are submitted. If the required documents are not received by the deadline, the university will rescind admission. [Note 3] Students having difficulty getting their transcripts issued in English should submit notarized copies. 3. Notes on the required documents ) If any false, incorrect or omitted information, missing documents, or misdeeds are found during the application process, the applicant will be held responsible and will be disqualified. 2) All required documents should be prepared and submitted as instructed.

3) Unless stated otherwise, all submitted documents will not be returned. 4) The name of the applicant should be written on the bottom right of each submitted document. 5) If the applicant s name is not identical across all submitted documents, an official document explaining the name change must be submitted. 6) Documents not issued in Korean, English or Chinese must be supplemented with Korean or English translations. 7) Notaries should be official institutions authorized by the government of the applicant s home country. 8) Documents related to academic records must be notarized within 24 months. Korean proficiency will be assessed based on either Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) taken within 2 years or the Korean language program completion certificate issued by Konkuk Language Institute with Level 3 or above. 2. Notification of Admissions Decisions ) The list of accepted students will be posted on Konkuk University s website (www.konkuk.ac.kr) in due course.
