Following the successful completion of prerequisite course work, transfer students are admitted into the upperdivision program as a junior. Successful completion of the baccalaureate program qualifies students to sit for the NCLEX-RN examination. Admittance into the upper division nursing coursework for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is dependent upon the following: A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.* A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above in the required sciences.* Completion of all prerequisite courses. Lower division credit may be taken at any accredited college or university. All prerequisite courses must be graded with a C or higher. Pass/No Pass is not allowed. Computer experience/literacy (ability to use a PC for word processing, e-mail, and access to the Internet) is required. Walla Walla University is a 4-year private religious university. The main campus is located in College Place, Washington, but the nursing specific campus is located in SE Portland, Oregon. The University is owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist church and provides nursing education in a Christian context. Students do not have to be members of the church, but are required to take courses in religion. LPNs are accepted into the BS in nursing program for the last 6 quarters of the program. LPN applicants are accepted based on a space available process. It is rare that more than 2-3 LPNs are accepted in a given year. LPN applicants need to hold an LPN license in any state, but are not required to be working as an LPN or have LPN experience. A list of pre-requisites are listed below. All prerequisite courses must be taken from a regionally accredited university or community college. Once a student is accepted, it takes 2 years to complete the program. All clinical experiences occur in the Portland, Oregon/Vancouver, WA area and students must provide their own transportation.
