What is the YF&R? You don t just work, you work hard. Nebraska Farm Bureau wants to reward that hard work and recognize your success in agriculture. The YF&R is your opportunity share your accomplishments in production agriculture and leadership achievement. The ideal candidate(s) for the is an individual or couple involved in production agriculture with a majority of his/her income subject to normal production risks. The Nebraska winner will receive $500 and an expenses-paid trip to compete nationally at the AFBF Annual Convention held in 2018 in Nashville, Tenessee, January 5-10, 2018. What are the eligibility requirements? An applicant can be either an individual or a married couple. Applicant may choose to apply individually, rather than as a couple. Applicant(s) shall be a Farm Bureau member(s) between the ages of 18 and 35 and in good standing with his/her county Farm Bureau. The individual or spouse/spousal-equivalent shall have reached his/her 18th birthday at the time he/she qualifies for the national competition and shall not have reached his/her 36th birthday by Jan. 31, 2018. Applicant(s) must be actively engaged in farming and/or ranching, with the majority of his/her income coming from production agriculture. Applicant(s) may only compete in one national YF&R Competition per year. Past state YF&R winners are not eligible to compete. Current employees of county, state and/or American Farm Bureaus and their affiliates are not eligible to compete. How are applications reviewed? Applications will be reviewed by Nebraska Farm Bureau staff and the Nebraska Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee.
