The Sooners are making are making the trip to Alabama after the Crimson Tide visited Norman in 2012 when OU came away with a 197.300-197.150 victory. The last time OU traveled to Tuscaloosa, the Crimson Tide came out on top, 196.725-196.525 in 2009. OU will look to break Alabama s 33 consecutive home win streak, a run that has been going since the Crimson Tide lost to LSU on Feb. 13, 2009. A LOOK AT no. 4 ALABAMA Alabama s team total last week at LSU is the highest road score in the nation this season with the Tide totaling a 197.725 team score behind a 49.525 on vault. Nationally, Alabama is ranked No. 2 on balance beam, No. 3 on floor, No. 4 on vault and No. 6 on the uneven bars. Junior Kim Jacob, ranked No. 16 in the all-around, moved up to No. 4 on the floor exercise and No. 9 on the balance beam after tying or exceeding her season-high scores on both events last week. Alabama has wins this season over Missouri, Kentucky, Auburn, UCLA and LSU (twice). Friday night will be Senior Night for the Crimson Tide; last season in Alabama s home finale, the defending national champions scored a 197.625. OLSON NAMED AAI AWARD FINALIST University of Oklahoma gymnast Brie Olson was named one of six finalists for the AAI Award recognizing the most outstanding senior female gymnast in the country. A native of St. Cloud, Minn., Olson is a three-time All-American for the first-ranked Sooners who currently ranks in the top 25 nationally in the all-around and three events. The senior currently sits at No. 5 in the country in the all-around in addition to being ranked No. 5 on bars, No. 9 on beam, No. 10 on floor and No. 26 on vault. Olson has tied or set new career highs in every event this season, helping Oklahoma to the No. 1 ranking in the nation this season. Olson tied an OU record and recorded the highest all-around score by any senior in the country this season against No. 5 UCLA, recording a 39.700 in OU s win over the Bruins. LAST TIME - SENIOR DAY VS. NO. 9 STANFORD, UNC NORMAN, Okla. - The No. 2 Oklahoma women s gymnastics team posted its ninth-straight score above a 197 Sunday on Senior Day, scoring a 197.525 to defeat No. 9 Stanford (196.000) and North Carolina (195.300). OU swept each team event to go to 19-0 on the season, the most regular season wins in program history, including 5-0 in four home meets this season. OU was without freshman Keeley Kmieciak due to illness, forcing Oklahoma to shuffle its lineups late. The Sooners didn t miss a step, highlighted by junior Hayden Ward stepping in on bars with a 9.9 and sophomore Becca Clark earning a 9.775 on beam. The Sooners also claimed every individual event, with freshman Haley Scaman earning the vault and floor titles, Olson claiming the bar title and junior Taylor Spears earning the top score on beam.

Sophomore Erica Brewer won the title at Arizona State and TWU and senior Brie Olson has claimed the title at West Virginia, the Perfect 10 Challenge and No. 5 UCLA. Spears, Olson and Brewer are currently nationally ranked No. 3, No. 5 and No. 13, respectively, in the all-around. No other school has more than two all-arounders ranked in the top 25. BEST ON BEAM & BARS Oklahoma retains its No. 1 ranking nationally on beam for the eighth-straight week with a 49.395 RQS. The Sooners scores of 49.600, 49.525 and 49.475 are three of the four highest scores of any team in the country on the event. The Sooners also took over the top spot on bars for the first time this season with a 49.465 RQS. HISTORIC NIGHT Oklahoma s win over UCLA rewrote the record books: OU s team score of 198.375 was the highest score by any team in NCAA women s gymnastics since 2004. It is also the highest score in program history, the highest score in Big 12 history and was the highest score in the nation this season at the time. OU s vault score of 49.525 is the second-highest score in program history and the highest since 2002. OU s bars score of 49.575 is the highest score in OU history, besting a 49.550 in 2003. OU s beam score of 49.600 is the highest score in the nation this season and gives OU three of the four highest scores in the country this year. OU s floor score of 49.675 was the highest score by any team in NCAA women s gymnastics since 2009. It is also tied for the highest score in OU history and the highest since 2003 and was the highest score of any team in the nation this year at the time. Brie Olson s 39.700 all-around score is tied for the highest score in OU history with Kasie Tamayo (2004) and was the top all-around score in the nation this season (now third). Olson s score, coupled with Taylor Spears 39.650 and Keeley Kmieciak s 39.650 in the same meet, is the first time three teammates have each earned a 39.650 or above in the same meet since Utah did so in 2004 and the first time such a feat has happened in OU history.

OU has the most wins of any team in the nation and the most in a regular season in team history. OU is looking for its fourth undefeated regular season in seven total season under head coach K.J. Kindler to go with unbeaten campaigns in 2008 (14-0), 2010 (14-0) and 2011 (15-0). Under Kindler, Oklahoma is 99-9 (.917) overall against regular season opponents. The Sooners have defeated numerous ranked teams this season, including currently ranked No. 5 LSU, No. 6 Georgia (twice), No. 8 UCLA, No. 9 Oregon State, No. 10 Stanford, No. 13 Denver, No. 18 Arizona, No. 21 West Virginia and No. 23 Boise State. NATIONAL RANKINGS Oklahoma reclaimed the No. 1 spot for the second week this season and fourth week in program history. After ranking in the top spot two weeks ago, the Sooners scored a 197.875 and a 197.525 in two separate meets over the weekend to jump past Florida again with a 197.570 RQS compared to the Gators 197.440. The only undefeated team and the team with the most wins in the country at 19-0 this year, OU has scored above a 197 in nine-straight meets dating back to Jan. 18. The Sooners nine meets over 197 is tied for the most in a regular season in NCAA history with this week s contest at No. 4 Alabama left with a chance to break the record. OU also jumped higher in each of the team event standings, including a No. 1 national ranking on bars to go with the teams eight-week streak ranked as the top beam team in the country. The Sooners also went from No. 5 to No. 3 in the team vault standings with a 49.420 score coupled with a No. 2 ranking on floor with a 49.430 average, up one spot from last week. Individually, OU continues to represent well in every ranking, including the all-around, with junior Taylor Spears at No. 3, senior Brie Olson at No. 5 and sophomore Erica Brewer at No. 13. Other Sooners in the top 10 include Spears at No. 1 on beam, freshman Haley Scaman at No. 3 on floor, Olson at No. 5 on bars, freshman Keeley Kmieciak at No. 8 on bars, sophomore Lauren Alexander at No. 8 on beam, Olson and Brewer tied for No. 9 on beam and Olson at No. 10 on floor. FANTASTIC FRESHMEN Oklahoma s freshmen have been put into key spots in the lineup on big stages and have risen to the occasion this season. Haley Scaman is a five-time Big 12 weekly award winner and is the top-ranked freshman in the country on floor and No. 3 overall. Scaman scored a 9.975 score at West Virginia, one of only nine gymnasts to earn such a score. Scaman has scored a 9.8 or better on 30 of 32 events this season. The freshman is also tied for No. 17 on vault nationally. Keeley Kmieciak has competed in the all-around in seven meets for the Sooners and is a three-time Big 12 weekly award winner. She has six individual titles this year, including two on bars, three on vault and one on floor. Against No. 5 UCLA, Kmieciak recorded a 39.650 all-around score, tied for the fifth best score in the nation this season and the best score of any freshman in the country. Maile ana Kanewa returned from preseason wrist surgery to compete for the first time this season against No. 5 UCLA. On her first-career vault, Kanewa scored a 9.925, tying for the event title. She has since won two Big 12 Specialist of the Week awards and two vault titles. ROAD TESTED Oklahoma comes into this week ranked No. 1 despite a road-heavy schedule this season. OU began the season with its first-ever win in Athens against Georgia in front of over 7,000 fans before earning its biggest margin of victory in a dual meet in four years in a win over Arizona State in Tempe. The Sooners also have wins away from home against ranked opponents Georgia (twice), LSU, Oregon State, Boise State and West Virginia in addition to Western Michigan, William & Mary, Iowa State, BYUand TWU (twice).
