PAAVAI POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE, PACHAL ANNUAL REPORT 2016 2017 I am very much pleased to present the 19 th annual report of Paavai Polytechnic College. The Classes for II & III year students commenced on 1 st June, in a traditional manner with a lot of enthusiasm. The inaugural Function for the I year classes was held on 20 th June 16. The function started with Ganesa and Saraswathi pooja. Thiru.CA N.V. Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai institutions, delivered the presidential address. Students performed patha pooja to their parents on this occasion. Bridge Course was conducted from 21 st to 25 th June for the first year polytechnic students 69 th Independence Day was celebrated on 15 th August 2016, in a grand manner. The Chairman of Paavai Institutions hoisted the National Flag and distributed the prizes to the winners of various competitions conducted in connection with 69 th Independence Day. Guruvanakkam and Padha Pooja were performed on the occasion of the Teachers Day Celebration on 5 th September 2015. An Orientation Programme was conducted for our first Year Students and third year students on the title cd;dunf nts;sp epyh from 02.12.16 to 09.12.16 by Mr. J. Karthick, Jaycee International Trainer and his team. Microsoft Innovation Centre organized Hour of Code for one hour during Computer Science Education Week Celebration on December 10 th to get an impact about simplicity of programming language. Individual certificates were awarded to the participants. The Placement Training Program was organized from 14.12.16 & 15.12.16 for all the third year students by Placement Training Officers, Paavai institutions. Republic Day was celebrated on 26 th January 2016, in a grand manner. The Chairman of Paavai Institutions hoisted the National flag and distributed the prizes to the winners of various competitions.

On 8 th Feb 17 The State Level Technical Symposium TECHNOSIUM 2K17 was organized at Paavai Polytechnic College. Smt.Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Institutions, presided over the function. Mr. N. Asoka, M/s Spark Engineers, Salem, was the Chief Guest. Students from various colleges presented their papers. The best paper presentations were awarded with cash awards. Our Polytechnic provides an opportunity for budding students to speak about Science and Technology Innovations every day at 1.20 p.m. WORKSHOP A Workshop was organized at SSM Polytechnic College entitled Training on Industrial Motors on 03.01.017. 10 students from Third year Electrical & Electronics Engineering got benefited. SPORTS & GAMES Besides Academic activities, our students have participated in various Tournaments in Divisional and State Level Competitions and won the Prizes. On 18.08.16 and 19.08.16 our Men s Ball Badminton Team won First place in IPAA Salem Division held at PGP Polytechnic College. They have won the match consecutively for the Second time. IPAA Salem Division Men Basketball Tournament was held on 12.12.16 at Paavai polytechnic College, Namakkal. Our students have won the match consecutively for the seventh time. IPAA-State Level Men s Basketball Tournament was held on 23.12.16 & 24.12.16 at Vetri Vinayaga Polytechnic College, Thotttium. Our students have won the match consecutively for the seventh time. IPAA Salem Divisional Basketball Women Tournament was held on 03.01.17 to 06.01.17 at K.S.R Polytechnic College, Thiruchengodu. Our College Team participated and won the first place. IPAA Salem Divisional Ball Badminton Women Tournament was held from 03.01.17 to 06.01.17 at K.S.R Polytechnic College, Thiruchengodu. Our College Team participated and won the match consecutively for the second time. IPAA Salem Divisional Badminton Women Tournament was held from 03.01.17 to 06.01.17 at K.S.R Polytechnic College, Thiruchengodu. Our College Team participated and won the second place.

IPAA Salem Divisional Athletic Meet for women was held from 03.01.17 to 06.01.17 at K.S.R Polytechnic College, Thiruchengodu. Our College Team participated and won the first place. PARENTS MEETING In order to discuss the academic performance of our students, Parent meet has been conducted frequently. To discuss the academic performance of Third year students of all Departments, Parents meeting was conducted on 19.08.16 & 20.08.16. On 22.08.16, Parents meet was conducted for the Second Year Students and discussed their academic performance. Parents meet was conducted on 15 th & 16 th September, for our First Year Students to discuss the odd semester academic performance and action to be taken for further improvement. NSS ACTIVITIES Under NSS Activity, training program on Life Skills was conducted from 26 th to 28 th June for the first year students and the Resource person was Mr. Loganathan HOD/Audio-Visual, Paavai Institutions, on 26.06.16 to 28.06.16. Under NSS activity, National Youth Day was celebrated at Paavai Polytechnic College. Our NSS Volunteers participated. On 1 st December, Aids Awareness Rally was organized at Namakkal Collector Office. Our NSS Volunteers participated and got benefited. A Trekking Program to Yercaud was organized on 27.12.16 for the First and Second Year as a part of NSS activity. Nearly 300 students participated. NSS Day Celebration was organized on 24.09.12 at Muthayammal Polytechnic College. Our college NSS Programme Officer participated with 5 NSS Volunteers. PAPER PRESENTATION Our Students have actively participated in many Symposiums and presented Technical Papers on various Topics. Final Year Computer Engineering students Selvan.M.Saravanan and Selvan.S.Prasanth presented a paper on Android Vs IOS at K.S.Rangasamy Institute of Technology on 24.08.16 and won First prize with the cash award of Rs.3,000/-

On 24 th August, Selvan. G. Gopikrishnan and Venkatesh Subramaniam of Final Civil Engineering presented a Technical Paper on the Advanced Waste Water Treatment at K.S.Rangasamy Institute of Technology and won Third Prize with the cash award of 1,000/- BOARD EXAMINATION RESULTS APRIL 16 III- Year Electronics & Communication Engineering in VI Sem secured 100% Results III- Year Computer Engineering in VI Sem Secured 94% Results III-Year Civil Engineering in VI-Sem Secured 91% Results III-Year Mechanical Engineering in VI-Sem secured 78% Results III-Year Automobile Engineering in VI-Sem secured 77.5% Results III-Year Electrical & Electronics Engineering in VI-Sem secured 75% Results II- Year Computer Engineering in IV-Sem secured 100% Results II- Year Electronics & Communication Engineering in IV-Sem secured 96% Results II- Year Automobile Engineering in IV-Sem secured 96% Results II-Year Electrical & Electronics Engineering in IV Sem secured 72% Results 65 Students got Centum in various subjects OCTOBER 16 III- Year Electronics & Communication Engineering in V-Sem secured 100% Results III-Year Automobile Engineering in V-Sem secured 98% Results III- Year Computer Engineering in V Sem Secured 91% Results III-Year Electrical & Electronics Engineering in V-Sem secured 91% Results III-Year Civil Engineering in V-Sem Secured 91% Results III-Year Mechanical Engineering in V-Sem secured 80% Results II- Year Electronics & Communication Engineering in III-Sem secured 87% Results II- Year Computer Engineering in III-Sem secured 79% Results

II- Year Automobile Engineering in III-Sem secured 70% Results II-Year Electrical & Electronics Engineering in III-Sem secured 69% Results II-Year Mechanical Engineering in III-Sem secured 53% Results 24 Students got Centum in various subjects CAMPUS RECRUITMENT On 16.12.16, Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Brakes India Limited, Chennai at Paavai Polytechnic College for our Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Engineering. Many Students were selected. Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by INFAC INDIA Limited, Chennai on 23.12.16 at Paavai Polytechnic College for our Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Engineering students. Many students were selected. On 24.12.16, Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted by Sundaram Fasteners Limited, Chennai at Paavai Polytechnic College for our Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Many Students were selected. On 23 rd December, an OFF Campus Drive was conducted by Cherry Labs Technology, Bangalore, at C.S.I Polytechnic College. Selvan S.Prasanth of Computer Engineering was selected in this Campus Drive. CONCLUSION To conclude the academic year 2016-2017 sailed smooth with varied activities being imprinted in its achievements. It is an ongoing process and each staff member has contributed towards the achievement of goals. We march with a great vision and we are truly optimistic in achieving it. My sincere thanks goes to our management who lend their helping hands at all moments. I thank all the staff for their co-operation and service rendered to the student community. **********

PAAVAI POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE, PACHAL A STATE LEVEL TECHNICAL SYMPOSIUM 2K17 VENUE: VISVESWARAYA HALL DATE : 08.02.17 TIME : 10:00 a.m. A State Level Technical symposium was organized by Paavai Polytechnic College. Students from various institutions participated and presented their papers. Smt. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent of Paavai Institutions lighted the kuthuvilakku and presided over the function. Shri N. Asoka, Managing Director, M/s SPARK ENGINEERS PVT LTD., Salem, was the Chief Guest. The Correspondent, in her presidential address told that Polytechnic education must be given importance all over the world to create industrial revolution. Symposium is the opportunity to expose potentials and acquire knowledge beyond the syllabus from various resources. In our Polytechnic College, students should give more importance for Technical based Learning. Self Esteem is very important to build up basic foundation and better improvement. Students should concentrate on their communication not only the fluency in English but also making stress and pause to make the listeners for better understanding. Industrial development depends upon the Polytechnic Institutions. Finally, she wished the students for their success. The Chief Guest inaugurated the function and delivered the inaugural address. In his speech, he told that every student should work hard for the betterment of successful life. He asked the students to participate in this kind of symposium which is a platform to exhibit their knowledge. He also shared the industrial experience among the students. These kinds of Symposium motivate the students to exhibit the hidden talent. He also added that most of the industrial sectors expect only the leadership quality and not the technical quality. He also said that globalization helps us to expand the market for our product with more quality and less price to all over the world. He advised the students to learn the culture of different countries in the world. He told that good communicator must be a good listener. He stressed the three qualities such as Lead, Connect and Serve. Finally, he wished all the students success and released the Technosium 2K17 Souvenir CD.
