Course in Wound Closure and Suturing Code 10384NAT

On behalf of The Benchmarque Group, I am delighted to introduce you to our Course in Wound Closure and Suturing. As a method for closing cutaneous wounds, the technique of suturing is thousands of years old. Although suture materials and aspects of the technique have changed, the goals remain the same: Supporting and strengthening wounds until healing increases their tensile strength Closing dead space Approximating skin edges for an aesthetically pleasing and functional result Minimising the risks of bleeding and infection Suturing is an essential psychomotor skill in the everyday practice of medicine. Although suturing technique is important, the clinician must also have a thorough understanding of wound management in general to effectively care for a patient with a laceration. Nurses and physicians encounter many types of wounds requiring closure in a primary health or emergency environment. The decision to close a wound and the technique used are influenced by many factors, including location, depth and contamination of wound, age of patient and resources or time available. The Course in Wound Closure and Suturing is designed to develop the knowledge and skills required for Nurses, General Practitoners and relevant allied healthcare workers to safely assess the need for and perform wound closure in a variety of settings. As part of this course, you will have the opportunity to explore a range of methods and learn the unique benefits and limitations of each technique that must be considered in each individual case. At the completion of the program, you will have the skills and knowledge to determine the best wound closure technique for a wound to achieve durability, simplicity, excellent cosmetic outcome, and overall patient satisfaction. If you have any further questions about our Course in Wound Closure and Suturing please do not hesitate to contact us on 1300 855 568. Kind regards, The Benchmarque Group Pty Limited Bruce Greaves General Manager
