DEPARTMENT of PSYCHIATRY & BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES 30th Annual Update in Psychiatry Target Audience This conference is designed for: > Psychiatrists > Neurologists > OB/GYNs > Psychologists > Licensed Practicing Counselors > Internalists > Social Workers > Urgent Care Physicians > Primary Care Physicians > Researchers > Family Medicine Physicians Other Healthcare Professionals Statement Of Purpose Over the past three decades, important technologies have transformed mental health care. To recognize our achievements and advancements in science and clinical practice, our 2017 conference will focus on technology and mental health. Held in beautiful downtown Charleston at MUSC s new Bioengineering Auditorium during Charleston s premier cultural event, Spoleto Festival USA, this conference brings together psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors and social workers, as well as researchers and other healthcare professionals, for two days of networking and education. Program Objectives At the end of this program, participants will be able to: Better assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders with innovations in technology. Identify specific technological applications (e.g. telemedicine and mobile phone apps) to aid in the assessment and treatment of mental health disorders. Implement technology to increase access of services for individuals with mental health disorders. Increase treatment adherence and augment therapeutic techniques for individuals with a wide array of mental health disorders.
