Goals and tasks of the DAAD Three strategic areas of activity Grant scholarships to the best so that the professionals and leaders of tomorrow can gain qualifications at the best locations, prepare for positions of responsibility and cultivate contacts throughout the world. SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE BEST STRUCTURES FOR INTERNATIONALISATION EXPERTISE FOR ACADEMIC COLLABORATION Create structures that promote internationalisation so that higher education institutions can improve the quality of research and instruction and address the challenges of the future with strong partners. so that more people can cross borders and achieve success in study and research. so that German remains an important language of culture and scholarship. so that higher education institutions may contribute to development and build bridges to surmount conflicts. Offer expertise for academic collaboration so that academic and political leaders are able to make well-informed policy decisions. 5

DAAD support measures for achieving German mobility targets I. Marketing Campaigns, conferences, fairs, internet, social networks, magazines, blogs. Preparation of a study period abroad (language training, information on study destinations, how to plan a trip,..) Targeting both students and multipliers (lecturers, career advisors, school teachers,..) Studies on showing the benefits of student mobility

Structural mobility programmes: Bachelor + (4 years BA with integrated year abroad) ISAP study and training partnerships (Joint and double degree programmes) PROMOS: Summer schools, Workshops, Internships, Study visits - credit mobility complementary to Erasmus Programmes aimed at specific regions,. 8

Support measures Overhead costs to support implementation of credit mobility at institutions: 12 Mill. Euro per year (350 Euro per mobility, 275 Euro as per 100. mobility) Incentives: 10-15% more funding to those who were able to increase mobility figures Information and advice through seminars, fora, webinars, FAQ, nationally adopted guide and more Monitoring visits to analyse the potential for improvement in managing credit mobility at institutions
