JICA Innovative Asia Scholarship Application at Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University This initiative, by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), aims to enhance the circulation of competent human resources between Japan and Asian countries and to promote innovation in the whole Asia. To this end, opportunities for study and internship in Japan for competent students who are studying at partner schools' in Asian countries will be provided. This scholarship is for a prospective Master s student and not offered for Ph.D. Application Schedule Application to GSA Kyoto University Screening JICA Final Selection Apply to Special Course in Agricultural Sciences for October 2018 admission. Application Deadline: February 9, 2018 GSA selects up to few candidates and recommend them to Kyoto University those successful applicants become GSA's candidates for JICA Innovative Asia Scholarship Kyoto University s International Office, the central office of the university, evaluates recommended applications from diverse graduate schools of the university and selects candidates to recommend to JICA around April or May, 2018 JICA makes final selection for the Innovative Asia Scholarship Announcement of the final result: by June or July, 2018 Target Countries: Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam (India has more priority) Target Participants: Those who have graduated or will be graduating by September 2018 and from partner universities set by JICA. Students from Agreement held universities with Kyoto University and/ or Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University have priorities. Procedure for JICA Innovative Asia Scholarship Application at Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University Special Course in Agricultural Sciences - For the Global Future of Life, Food and the Environment - is a course targeted at international students and this course is offered entirely in English. This application targets prospective students seeking Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Innovative Asia s Scholarship Program and selects few candidates for the scholarship. Those selected candidates by the Graduate School of Agriculture (GSA) are recommended to JICA via Kyoto University for the final selection of the scholarship. The final result is expected to be announced by August 2018 and enrollment to the GSA is from October 1, 2018. The duration of the scholarship is two years. For those who apply to JICA Innovative Asia Scholarship must pass the application of Special Course in Agricultural Sciences for October 2018 admission. The application deadline is February 9, 2018. Procedure: 1. Check the eligibility requirements and scholarship details of the JICA Innovative Asia scholarship from their website. Those who pass the university level screening are sent to JICA for the final selection. b) The rejected candidates of Innovative Asia scholarship selection are still eligible to enroll to the Special Course in Agricultural Sciences as long as they pass the application to the Special Course in Agricultural Sciences from October 2018.
