Kincanon and Jane S. Glenn Scholarships. The Scholarships are available to students who demonstrate diligence in and commitment to their studies, academic excellence, and an interest in the pursuit of law as a career. To be considered, applicants must meet all of the following requirements: 1. Be a resident of the City of Roanoke, The City of Salem, or the County of Roanoke, or be a graduate of a high school located in those jurisdictions. 2. Have a grade point average of at least a 3.0 during high school (and college or law school, if applicable). 3. Applicants for the Kincanon must be accepted, or expect to be accepted prior to the 2017 Fall semester, into post secondary training, pursuing education in the law. Applicants for the Glenn scholarship must be accepted, or expect to be accepted prior to the 2017 Fall semester, into an accredited law school in the Commonwealth of Virginia. In 2016 the Foundation awarded $4000 in scholarships. Applications are available online at www.roanokelawfoundation.com beginning in February. University of Richmond Richmond s Promise to Virginia Virginians whose annual family income is $60,000 or less may receive grants equal to full tuition, room, and board at the University of Richmond without loans. Eligible students must be Virginia residents, admitted as first-year Richmond students, have an annual income of $60,000 or less and qualify for need-based financial aid. For more information, visit financialaid.richmond.edu/promisetovirginia PSAT/NMSQT JACK KENT COOKE FOUNDATION Scholarships can open doors for students who might not be able to afford college, and the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation provides one of the largest scholarships in the country for high-achieving students with financial need. Over half (54 percent) of the students who won the Jack Kent Cooke College Scholarship last year had taken the PSAT/NMSQT and were discovered through Student Search Service. The Cooke Scholarship seeks out underrepresented students of all races, backgrounds, and ethnicities using the PSAT/NMSQT. Offers up to $40.000 per year for four years of undergraduate study at any accredited college or university. Can be used toward total cost of attendance, not just tuition, room and board. Toptal Scholarship for Women My name is Irina and I would like to share a scholarship program launched by my company, Toptal. We just started a scholarship program to award 12 scholarships over the next 12 months to help women pursue their technical career aspirations. This competition is for the top graduating students who may be interested in NC State University. More specifically, the program should be directed towards students interested in career fields such as engineering, business management, chemistry, polymer chemistry, forensics, medical fields, international studies, design apparel, sourcing, fashion, merchandising or retail management as these are some other career areas graduates from our internationally known College of Textiles here at NC State enter upon graduation. A degree in Textiles at NC State is not required to apply for the Centennial scholarship, but will be required for students to receive the Centennial scholarship or any college of textiles scholarship. Up to eight of our Centennial Scholarships are valued at $60,000 (15,000/year for four years). These scholarships will cover approximately 70% of the basic in state cost of attending NC State Univ.and approximately 40% of the basic out of state cost of attending. Davis & Elkins college Any student that has a 3.8 is guaranteed $15,000 in scholarship money to attend our college. (we have other merit scholarship based on GPA and scores, but this is the maximum of free scholarship money that can be earned) so the higher the GPA the more free scholarship money can be offered. Our application process is online & FREE and plus with early acceptance by NOV 1st 2016 each student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, will get an invitation by mail and has a chance to win a FULL TUI- TION paid scholarship for all four years...plus just for attending that day, each student will receive $250/yr for four years. The Kendall Bayne Foundation Scholarship ($1000) We are proud to announce this inaugural college scholarship. The scholarship is available to high school seniors who will graduated in 2017, live in the Roanoke Valley and attend a school in Roanoke City, Roanoke County, or Salem City. Kendall was a Cave Spring High School Graduate who was beloved by the community. Students can be eligible to attend Virginia Western Community College tuition free for two years.

Burger King McLamore Foundation Created in memory of Burger King Co-founder James Jim W. McLamore, the Burger King Scholars program has awarded $28.3 million in scholarships to more than 26,800 high school students, BK employees and their families across the U,S., Canada and Puerto Rico since 2000. In 2016 alone, the Foundation awarded $3 million to more than 2,800 students in America. Scholarship grants range from $1000 to 50,000 and are intended to help students offset the cost of attending college or post-secondary vocational/technical school. Recipients are selected based on their grade point average (GPA), work experience, extracurricular activities and community service. DAR GOOD CITIZENS PROGRAM AND SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST PROGRAM OVERVIEW The DAR Good Citizens program and scholarship contest is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. The program is open to all senior class students enrolled in accredited public or private secondary schools that are in good standing with their stage boards of education. Citizenships are not required. The student selected as the school s DAR Good Citizen must have the qualities of dependability (which includes truthfulness, loyalty, and punctuality); service (which includes cooperation, courtesy, and consideration of others) leadership (which includes personality, selfcontrol, and ability to assume responsibility); and patriotism (which includes unselfish interest in family, school, community and nation) to an outstanding degree. The faculty will choose 3 seniors who have demonstrated, in a outstanding way, these qualities of a good citizen. From these 3, one is selected. BBB Better Business Bureau 14th ANNUAL STUDENT OF INTEGRITY SCHOLARSHIP AWARD The Better Business Bureau Serving Western, Va (BBB) promotes integrity and ethics in the marketplace through voluntary business selfregulation. Each year we offer scholarships recognizing Students of integrity These scholarships are designed to recognize and promote ethics and integrity among young people. The BBB will award scholarships to graduating high school seniors who personify all of the best aspects of strong character in their personal choices and actions. Scholarship money is awarded directly to the recipients to apply toward college tuition or post secondary education expenses. Recipients are required to enroll in an accredited college or university following high school graduation. Each scholarship is $1,000. If you are high schooled or home schooled within the area served by BBB. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA to apply. A copy of your transcript must be included. Attention Juniors and Seniors! Lee-Jackson Educational Foundation Scholarship Program The 2016-2017 Lee-Jackson Educational Foundation scholarship is now available for Virginia students. The objective of the program is to acquaint young people with the historical legacy of two of Virginia s most outstanding military figures, General Robert E.Lee and General Thomas J. Stonewall Jackson. Eighteen scholarships will be awarded to Virginia High School juniors and seniors submitting outstanding original, analytical essays on any aspect positive or negative of the career, character, or legacy of General Robert E.
