Kincanon and Jane S. Glenn Scholarships. The Scholarships are available to students who demonstrate diligence in and commitment to their studies, academic excellence, and an interest in the pursuit of law as a career. To be considered, applicants must meet all of the following requirements: 1. Be a resident of the City of Roanoke, The City of Salem, or the County of Roanoke, or be a graduate of a high school located in those jurisdictions. 2. Have a grade point average of at least a 3.0 during high school (and college or law school, if applicable). 3. Applicants for the Kincanon must be accepted, or expect to be accepted prior to the 2017 Fall semester, into post secondary training, pursuing education in the law. Applicants for the Glenn scholarship must be accepted, or expect to be accepted prior to the 2017 Fall semester, into an accredited law school in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Over half (54 percent) of the students who won the Jack Kent Cooke College Scholarship last year had taken the PSAT/NMSQT and were discovered through Student Search Service. The Cooke Scholarship seeks out underrepresented students of all races, backgrounds, and ethnicities using the PSAT/NMSQT. Burger King McLamore Foundation Created in memory of Burger King Co-founder James Jim W. McLamore, the Burger King Scholars program has awarded $28.3 million in scholarships to more than 26,800 high school students, BK employees and their families across the U,S., Canada and Puerto Rico since 2000. In 2016 alone, the Foundation awarded $3 million to more than 2,800 students in America. Scholarship grants range from $1000 to 50,000 and are intended to help students offset the cost of attending college or post-secondary vocational/technical school. Recipients are selected based on their grade point average (GPA), work experience, extracurricular activities and community service. BBB Better Business Bureau 14th ANNUAL STUDENT OF INTEGRITY SCHOLARSHIP AWARD The Better Business Bureau Serving Western, Va (BBB) promotes integrity and ethics in the marketplace through voluntary business selfregulation. Each year we offer scholarships recognizing Students of integrity These scholarships are designed to recognize and promote ethics and integrity among young people. The BBB will award scholarships to graduating high school seniors who personify all of the best aspects of strong character in their personal choices and actions. Scholarship money is awarded directly to the recipients to apply toward college tuition or post secondary education expenses.
