MEDDAC BAYNE-JONES ARMY COMMUNITY HOSPITAL AWC reopens March 15 Fort Polk and Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital are reestablishing services starting March 15 at the Army Wellness Center. The center, operated by Public Health Command, closed last year due to staffing shortages. AWC services are free and open to all Soldiers, Family members, Retirees and DoD civilians. Testing of this caliber would cost around $3,000. The AWC is located on the main BJACH campus 1585 Third Street, Bldg. 263. Parking is available adjacent to the center Monthly Third Thursday Training Closure 15 March 18: BJACH clinics and ancillary services are closed until 1:00 p.m. the third Thursday of each month for training. BJACH dining facility is not open for breakfast on training days but will open at 11:00 a.m. for lunch. Entrance B, 2 nd floor, will remain locked until 12:45 p.m. Future training days: April 19, May 17, June 21, July 19, August 16, and September 20.

March is Brain Injury Awareness Month to increase awareness of TBI. A traumatic brain injury is the result of a blow or jolt to the head or a penetrating head injury that disrupts the function of the brain. You can prevent a TBI by reducing your chances of getting one by thinking ahead. National Nutrition Month March - National Nutrition Month - focuses on the significance of physical fitness ass well as eating nourishing meals. Taking charge of your health contributes to overall wellbeing, as well as losing weight or staying at your ideal weight, which reduces risks of chronic illness such as heart disease and diabetes.
