The project will focus on these objectives: Create a GIS Workforce Education Model relevant to the labor market in the southern NJ coastal region, Train entry level and advanced GIS users for geospatial industry certifications, Integrate GIS education into multiple academic disciplines, Establish a pipeline for GIS education for students transitioning from high school to community college to four year colleges and universities. It is offered to low income youth with additional obstacles who are enrolled in the Alternative Route program. It will include instruction, program coordination and support for a maximum of 12 participants.
