Representatives from outstanding organizations are looking forward to providing you with information about available positions, careers, and internships. MAKING THE MOST OF CAREER FAIRS Where to start Take a moment to review the list of employers present at the fair to identify which organizations are of the greatest interest to you. Ask questions If you are a senior actively seeking a job, you might ask: I will be graduating next June and I m seeking a job as a manager. How would I apply to your organization? If you are a sophomore and unsure of your career goals, you might ask: I m interested in your organization. What positions do you typically have available for liberal arts students? Other potential questions: What types of skills do you look for? What are some typical entry-level positions? Do you have internships available? What is your hiring process? What employers are looking to do Provide information about their organizations. Recruit for current and/or anticipated openings. Promote their organizations. Helpful hints Try to speak with representatives rather than just picking up their literature and walking away. If the employer asks you to send a resume or call them, be sure to get their email address and/or phone number. Ask for a business card. If you approach a table and there are several people waiting in line to talk with a representative, prepare a few questions while you wait.
