Purpose. To promulgate a schedule for the Brazilian visitors to the United States Naval Academy and assign responsibilities for associated events. 2. Information. During the period 21 January through 1 February 2017, two Brazilian midshipmen listed in enclosure (1) will be guests of the Brigade of Midshipmen in order to facilitate quality foreign interactions and enable cooperative and collaborative relationships as allowed by reference (a). Enclosure (2) will be billeted in Bancroft Hall and will observe as closely as possible the routine of their hosts, ecept as modified by enclosure (2). Designated meals in King Hall are in enclosure (3) and U.S. Naval Academy International Programs Office should be invoiced for these meals. 3. Action a. LCDR Ferreira, BN, is designated the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) for the visit. POC information is aferreir@usna.edu and 3-6064. The alternate point of contact is Tim Disher at disher@usna.edu and 3-2981. b. Midshipman-in-charge of the evolution: MIDN 1/C Kyle Pate, Midshipman Officer-in Charge (MOIC). c. The three midshipmen selected for the Brazilian Naval Academy echange program (during Spring Break) will serve as hosts: 1/C Kyle Pate, 3/C Brittany Bongiovanni and 3/C Korien Sorensen. If any situation arises that prevents the selected midshipmen to act as hosts, Brigade Operations will task the midshipmen Chain of Command per reference (b). The Operations Officer is the final approval authority for midshipmen hosts.
JAN 1 7 2017 d. Visitors are guests of the Brigade and will be treated as such. Hosts will observe the normal routine during the period 21 January through 1 February 2017. Hosts should be available throughout the entire visit period (e.g., not on restriction, weekend, MO, etc.). The hosts must stay with Brazilian visitors during the entire visit, ecept as modified by enclosure (2). e. Room assignments and visitor/host assignments may not be changed unless authorized by the OIC. Taps discrepancies will be forwarded to the Bancroft Hall Officer of the Watch. f. Company Operations Officers will make every effort to assign the visiting midshipmen a rack rather than a cot, even if the rack is not in the same room as the midshipmen host. This potential separation does not relieve the host of his/her responsibilities and Taps accountability. g. Midshipmen hosts will ensure the Brazilian visitors will abide by Midshipmen Regulations and comply with the schedule delineated in enclosure (2). h. Visitors will eat with their hosts in King Hall, ecept as modified by enclosure (3). i. The OIC and MOIC are responsible for ensuring compliance with all phases of this notice by the Brazilian visitors in their respective companies.
