The village gives students in the area affordable accommodation whilst they undertake studies at Hunter TAFE and other learning institutions. Sam Adams College is open to full time and part time TAFE, university and vocational students, and those undertaking work placement in the Upper Hunter. The Education Support Scholarship will provide the recipient with one (1) year s accommodation in a Resident Room at the Sam Adams College at a reduced rate of $77 per week (advertised rate $154 per week) together with a package comprising of; three (3) months subscription to Netflix, three (3) months subscription to Spotify, Double Pass to Muswellbrook Cinema and a $50 Big W Gift Voucher. Please Retain Terms and Conditions For Future Use Do Not Return With Application Form TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR EDUCATION SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED BY THE HUNTER TAFE FOUNDATION 1.0 ESTABLISHMENT AND PURPOSE 1.1 The Education Support Scholarship was established by Hunter TAFE Foundation in partnership with Sam Adams College as a means of providing support and encouragement via the provision of reduced rate accommodation for students studying in the Upper Hunter (Muswellbrook Scone Singleton). 1.2 A panel will be established to review scholarship applications and provide Sam Adams College with a recommendation for their endorsement. 1.3 The scholarship delivers half priced accommodation at a rate of $77 per week (advertised rate $154 per week correct as at June 2017) for a period of one (1) year from when the scholarship is awarded together with package comprising of; - Three (3) months subscription to Netflix - Three (3) months subscription to Spotify - Double pass to Muswellbrook Cinema - $50 Big W Gift voucher 2.0 DEFINITIONS 2.1 Applicant means an individual who applies for an Education Support Scholarship by completing and submitting an Education Support Scholarship Application Form in accordance with the Application Process. 2.2 Application Process means the process set out in clause 3.0 of these Terms and Conditions as amended or varied by the Hunter TAFE Foundation from time to time in its sole discretion. 2.3 Eligible Applicant means an Applicant who meets the criteria for eligibility for the award of an Education Support Scholarship as set out in clause 4.0 of the Terms and Conditions. 2.4 Education Support Scholarship means a reduced accommodation rate at Sam Adams College of $77 per week for one (1) year awarded by the Hunter TAFE Foundation in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Please note that pricing is accurate as at June 2017and may be subject to alteration. 2.5 Education Support Scholarship Application means an application for an Education Support Scholarship made by an Applicant in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. 2.6 Education Support Scholarship Application Form means the form which must be completed by an Applicant and which is available from http://www.hunter.tafensw.edu.au/students/pages/scholarships.aspx 2.7 Education Support Scholarship Offer and Acceptance Form means the form which must be completed by the Successful Applicant and is to be issued by the Hunter TAFE Foundation Relationship Coordinator. 2.8 Education Support Scholarship Recipient means Successful Applicant who accepts the Education Support Scholarship by completing and returning an Education Support Scholarships Offer and Acceptance Form in accordance with the process set out in clause 6.0 of these Terms and Conditions. Please Retain Terms and Conditions For Future Use Do Not Return With Application Form 2.9 Panel means a panel established to assess Applicants on their Application Form and provide a recommendation to Sam Adams College. 2.10 Successful Applicant means an Eligible Applicant who is offered an Education Support Scholarship by the Hunter TAFE Foundation in accordance with the process set out in clause 5.0 of these Terms and Conditions. 3.0 APPLICATION PROCESS 3.1 An Applicant must complete an Education Support Scholarship Application Form and submit the Education Support Scholarship Application Form to the Hunter TAFE Foundation via the Hunter TAFE Foundation Relationship Coordinator, either by post, email or in person as detailed on the Education Support Scholarship Application Form. 3.2 The Applicant must acknowledge and accept the Education Support Scholarship Terms and Conditions by signing and dating the declaration on the Education Support Scholarship Application Form prior to submitting the Education Support Scholarship Application Form in the manner set out in clause 3.1. 3.3 Upon receipt of an Education Support Scholarship Application Form, the Hunter TAFE Foundation Relationship Coordinator will complete an initial review of the Education Support Scholarship Application Form to ensure that all required information has been provided by the Applicant. 3.4 Following the completion of an initial review of an Education Support Scholarship Application the Foundation Relationship Coordinator will notify an Applicant in writing of receipt of the Education Support Scholarship Application and provide an outline of the next steps for that Applicant in relation to their Education Support Scholarship Application. 3.5 Provided all aspects of an Education Support Scholarship Application are correctly completed by the Applicant, the Education Support Scholarship Application will be referred to the Education Support Scholarship Panel for its assessment and determination. 3.6 The Education Support Scholarship Panel may, at its sole discretion, confer with the Hunter TAFE Foundation and/or TAFE NSW to confirm the suitability of an Applicant. 4.0 APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY FOR AWARD OF EDUCATION SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIP 4.1 An Education Support Scholarship may be awarded to an Eligible Applicant who has completed and lodged an Education Support Scholarship Application Form and who, as determined by the Panel (in its sole discretion), satisfies all of the following criteria: 4.1.1 Is enrolled in a course delivered by TAFE NSW in 2018 in the Upper Hunter at either Muswellbrook, Scone or Singleton campus and must not be currently residing or have previously resided at Sam Adams College. 4.1.2 Is over the age of 18 year at time of enrolment. 4.1.3 Demonstrates commitment to their education and a willingness to contribute to the local community. 4.1.4 Applicant would benefit from the financial assistance provided by this scholarship. 4.2 Incomplete Education Support Scholarship Application Forms will not be considered by the Panel. Please Retain Terms and Conditions For Future Use Do Not Return With Application Form 4.3 The Hunter TAFE Foundation Relationship Coordinator is under no obligation to attempt to contact any Applicant who incorrectly completes and/or submits an Application Form and will, at his or her discretion, contact an Applicant on not more than two (2) occasions in an effort to obtain information which is missing, or has not been completed correctly, in an Education Support Scholarship Application Form. Should all required information not be provided, the Education Support Scholarship Application will be withdrawn by the Hunter TAFE Foundation Relationship Coordinator and notice sent to the Applicant. 5.0 OFFER OF EDUCATION SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIP 5.1 The Panel will determine the Education Support Scholarship recipients in its sole discretion. 5.2 The successful applicants will be notified by telephone and mail and will be sent an Education Support Scholarship Offer and Acceptance Form to complete. 5.3 If unsuccessful, an Applicant will be notified in writing of that outcome. 6.0 ACCEPTANCE OF EDUCATION SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIP 6.1 A Successful Applicant must complete and return the Education Support Scholarship Offer and Acceptance Form as soon as possible and as a pre-condition to being awarded the Education Support Scholarship. 6.2 For the avoidance of doubt, a Successful Applicant acknowledges and agrees that the award of an Education Support Scholarship is conditional upon a Successful Applicant signing and returning to the Hunter TAFE Foundation the Education Support Scholarship Offer and Acceptance Form. 7.0 AWARD AND PAYMENT OF THE EDUCATION SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIP 7.1 Following the Successful Applicant s completion and return of the Education Support Scholarship Offer and Acceptance Form, the Education Support Scholarship will be presented to the Successful Applicant at the Hunter TAFE Foundation Scholarship Presentation Ceremony. 7.2 The reduced accommodation rate of $77 per week will be applied to accommodation fee when the Successful Applicant takes up residence at Sam Adams College. 7.3 The Hunter TAFE Foundation is under no obligation to advise Sam Adams College of a reduced accommodation rate until it has received a signed and completed Education Support Scholarship Offer and Acceptance Form. 8.0 CONDITIONS OF EDUCATION SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIP 8.1 An Education Support Scholarship Recipient acknowledges and agrees that the following conditions apply to the award of an Education Support Scholarship: 8.1.1 On request by the Hunter TAFE Foundation or the Panel, an Education Support Scholarship Recipient must provide the Hunter TAFE Foundation with an update on how the Education Support Scholarship assisted them in their education at TAFE NSW. Please Retain Terms and Conditions For Future Use Do Not Return With Application Form 8.1.2 All Education Support Scholarship Recipients must agree to be available for promotional and marketing photography in line with TAFE NSW s Authority to Publish. 8.1.3 Any decision of the Panel regarding an Education Support Scholarship Application is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 8.1.4 The Successful Recipient is expected to be an ambassador for the Hunter TAFE Foundation and uphold the values of the organisation and to behave at all times in accordance with the TAFE NSW Student Code of Conduct. 8.1.5 The Hunter TAFE Foundation reserve the right to withdraw the reduced accommodation rate awarded as for the Education Support Scholarship should a Recipient fail to meet any of the requirements as outlined in these Terms and Conditions (as determined by the Hunter TAFE Foundation). 9.0 VARIATION 9.1 The Hunter TAFE Foundation may vary these Terms and Conditions or any form or process referred to herein at any time and without notice.
