Dear TCMS Families: 2017-2018 WIZARDING WORLD OF TEAM TORNADO This year s Team Tornado Campaign is the Wizarding World of Team Tornado. This fundraiser is a vital part of making our school the number 1 middle school in Hillsborough County. The funds from this campaign go to help make improvements in our school, inside and out, as well as helping with operational expenses. As you know, charter schools do not receive any ad valorem tax money from the county, and therefore, we do not receive the same money allocation as other public schools. We are responsible for all of our expenses, including the bond payment for our building and all maintenance of such, as well as all academic tools, including but not limited to textbooks, technology, etc. Our fundraising goal is $150,000. We would like to build another pavilion for lunches and/or a space for outdoor classroom time. We encourage all families to participate in this fundraising campaign. We would love to see each family donate at least $300. The minimum donation to be considered in the homeroom participation count is $25. It is the goal of every homeroom to have 100% participation with at least $3,500 collected per homeroom. All homerooms which have reached this goal will go to Camp Christina for the day to participate in the Tri- Wizard Tournament competition and will compete against the other homerooms and individuals who have also qualified. All students who have donations of $1000 or more will qualify to compete in the Tri-Wizard Tournament at Camp Cristina even if their homeroom does not qualify. All homerooms and eligible individuals competing at Camp Cristina will be given a Wizarding World of Team Tornado t-shirt and will also be able to use that t-shirt for spirit days on eligible Fridays at TCMS. If you have more than one student at our school, a $300 donation would qualify each student for the Lock-In and the dress down day of November 9th. Please make sure that the names and homerooms for each of your students who would qualify for the Lock-In are included with the donation. There will be incentives along the way. Every student who turns in their Wizarding World of Team Tornado package to their parent or guardian and returns the receipt for same to school will be entered into a weekly drawing for prizes and/or treats. Other incentives and contests will be announced along the way. Payments can be made through cash, check, money order or PayPal. All matching donations will be included in the total donation. Matching documentation must be provided to the Business/Finance Manager. All donations can either be mailed or turned in by the student during homeroom and must have the student s name and homeroom teacher attached to the donation so that it is recorded accurately. All sponsorships must have the sponsorship form attached at the time that the donation is turned in so that it is recorded accurately with the exception of the Dragon Level. Please see notation on Sponsorship Form. Included in this packet is a tax receipt for you to give anyone who has donated in this fundraising project. This will be the only receipt given to that individual or business. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Matthew Gonzalez at matt.gonzalez@tcmstornadoes.com or 813-987-6555, ext. 306.
