ICT provide efficient mechanism for climate change, disaster management, prevention and early warning to help save lives and reduce the devastating effects of the changing climate. Specifically, the session will discuss the model policies to set out mechanisms to control the import, reuse and or production of ICTs devices and the environmentally processes for the recycling and disposal of mobile phones, computers and other equipment that generates e-waste. ICT for Disaster Management This session will discuss the role of ICTs in disaster prevention and/or management and the steps to develop the National Emergency Telecommunication Plans for countries as well as the work of ITU in emergency response. The session will also discuss the different ICT-enabled solutions, ICTs policies, strategies, and key recommendations for members for achieving clean and sustainable energy through using ICTs.
