A safety Brief will conducted prior to each live fire event to all participants. 2. IOT occupy this range unit must have the following personnel/equipment: RSO Corpsman & Safety Vehicle Positive Communication with LONGRIFLE If ammunition is present on range - Ammo Guards will be armed. 3. IOT go into a hot status on range unit must have the following personnel/equipment: OIC RSO Corpsman & Safety Vehicle Positive Communication with LONGRIFLE 4. RSO will verify the left and right lateral limits utilizing a compass and map. Overall range lateral limits will be identified. Each firing position lateral limits will be identified. 5. The RSO & OIC will personally observe each live fire event. 6. A signed ORM must be on hand IOT conduct training. 7. A non-participating Corpsman will be stationed with safety vehicle. 8. A full rehearsal will be conducted prior to live fire. 9. Ammunition will only be issued per event and accounted for on NAVMC 11381. 10. After each event, unit leaders will conduct a line out. 11. Ensure all weapons are cleared and inspected prior to departing the firing line. 12. All weapon malfunctions shall be corrected per the appropriate TM/FM, and unit SOP. RANGE AND TRAINING REGULATIONS SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS 1. This range is a COMTS range with thermal target capabilities. All units shall coordinate with the contractor at least 48 hours prior to training event. 2. At no time will any Marine climb onto any target berm or shall engage any target at a distance closer than 25 meters. 3. All targets utilized for maneuver must be Knock Down Stay Down type targets. 4. If dud mortar illumination rounds are encountered in the maneuver areas, dud locations shall be marked. 5. All SBFs will have an NCO with direct communication to the RSO. All MGs will fire registration fires that will be verified by the RSO to the OIC prior to the exercise. 6. Each RSO will certify to the OIC that all weapons are in Condition 4 prior to exiting the range. 7. No targets will be engaged by the maneuver element until they have crossed the start fire line. 8. Marines with the SBF will only upload and down load weapons at the SBF Position. 9. All SBF Wpns will go to condition 4 prior to anyone crossing the min safe line. 10. SMAWs/AT-4s shall be employed at the identified targets for these weapon systems only. Rockets shall be fired from 58014 94480 at target located at 58130 94697 (target provided by unit) DOF 016 deg mag. 11. When target emplacement is required on R215A beyond the approved movement box, the OIC from R215A will conduct a face-to-face with the OIC from R218A to coordinate a mutually agreed time for emplacement. Target emplacement will not take more than 30 minutes at any time. 12. All EMP Training will be conducted within the depicted firing box. 13. For all EMP training a. All EMP targets must be of softwood uprights, cardboard backing paper or cardboard targets. b. Any metal bases used must be soft metal. 14. All M249/M240G BZO and 10 meter qualification will be conducted using pallets set on the field firing line. a. Any engineer stakes used for pallets must be placed on the outside edges of the pallets. 15. Mortar increment will be burned in the concrete bunker north of the firing line. a. Burned in single Row b. No more than 10 total c. Burning increments is authorized in all FDR conditions. 16. Any movement/maneuver other than what is currently approved requires a brief to the RCO at least fourteen (14) working days prior to the training evolution. 17. Ensure all weapons are cleared and inspected prior to departing the firing line. 18. All weapon malfunctions shall be corrected per the appropriate TM/FM, and unit SOP. Additional Safety Measures 1.
