PRESS RELEASE Christopher Protsman Chief of Police Released: November 6, 2017 POLICE BLOTTER Monday, October 30, 2017 1650 An officer conducted a traffic stop at Dorothy and Powhatten after running the registration to find the owner (passenger), Crystal L. Mullins (W/F/36) had an active warrant. The warrant was issued by the Muskingum County Sheriff s Office for her failure to appear on a theft charge. Mullins was arrested and transported to the Kettering Jail on the confirmed warrant. 2017-54595 1837 An officer conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation at Wilmington and Beaverton. Joshua L. Schwarck (W/M/36) was a passenger in the vehicle and lied about his identity because of an active warrant through MCSO for probation violation (heroin possession). Schwarck was arrested and transported to the Kettering Jail on falsification and the confirmed warrant. 2017-54612 1938 Officers responded to 2785 East Dorothy Lane for a warrant service on Kyle G. Hamm (W/M/27). The Kettering Municipal Court issued a warrant for Hamm s failure to comply with probation. Hamm was at the residence and arrested on the confirmed warrant. 2017-33616 Tuesday, October 31, 2017

2033 An officer responded to UDF 2200 E. Dorothy for follow-up on an earlier theft; this involved subjects in a parked vehicle. His investigation ultimately resulted in Christopher S. Riley (W/M/19) being arrested for felony possession of drugs (x2), felony trafficking in drugs, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. 2017-54808 0020 An officer stopped a vehicle in the area of Kettering Blvd and W. Stroop Rd after observing Gretchen M. Lammers (W/F/52) driving and knowing her to be suspended. As the officer spoke with Lammers he noticed she appeared to have been drinking. After failing SFSTs, Lammers was arrested for OVI. Once at KPD Jail, Lammers refused a breath test and based on prior convictions she was charged with test refusal as well. 2017-54840 Wednesday, November 1, 2017 0945 An officer responded to 3040 E Dorothy Ln #23 for a welfare check of a 4- yr old and a 5-yr old left alone in the apt. Upon arrival, it was discovered the mother left the children alone while she went to work at Panera at the Greene. Wilnesha Shakia Yanese Yates, b/f, 24, was arrested for 2 counts of child endangering, and transported to KPD Jail. An officer transported the children to their day-care at Indian Riffle School. Family members were notified. 2017-54887 1240 An officer found a disabled vehicle at 35 Moraine Cir. The owner, Brenda Still, (W/F/60) was found to have an active warrant from Lebanon. Still was arrested and transported to the Kettering PD Jail. 2017-54909 1915 Officers were dispatched to 4711 Wilmington Pike on the report of a criminal trespass. Upon investigation, they located Carl R. Armstrong (W/M/30). Armstrong had been trespassed from the complex. Officers arrested him for criminal trespass and transported him to KPD Jail without incident. 2017-54968 2200 Officers responded to 2124 Patterson Rd #3 on report of a subject trespassing. The subject was located in the apartment and upon confirmation of the trespass warning Anthony J. DiMauro (W/M/38) was

placed under arrest for Criminal Trespassing and transported to KPD jail. 2017-54989 2229 An officer responded to the Speedway at 1020 E. Dorothy Ln for a suspicious person. As he pulled in the lot the subject pulled out quickly in a vehicle, crossed the street and crashed into the gate at the VMC. The officer followed and observed a male run from the vehicle into the VMC lot. Multiple crews responded to set up a perimeter. Following a track by a K9, the subject, Joseph Little (W/M/29), was located hiding, which resulted in a K9 bite when he refused to cooperate. The vehicle was later determined to be stolen. Little was transported to Kettering Hospital, treated, released and returned to KPD Jail without incident. 2017-54990 0046 An officer stopped a vehicle in the area of Wilmington and Windemere for a minor traffic violation. The officer asked the passenger, Craige A. Carter (B/M/38) if he had any drugs on his person. Carter advised he had some marijuana. Carter was found to have a small amount of marijuana on him as well as some crack cocaine. Carter was arrested for Felony Drug Possession transported to KPD Jail. 2017-54999 0401 An officer was dispatched to Hamilton County Jail for a warrant service. When he arrived took custody of Jason D. Michel (W/M/40) on entered Aggravated Menacing and Telephone Harassment warrants. The warrants were confirmed and Michel was transported to KPD Jail. 2017-33924 Thursday, November 2, 2017 0026 An officer stopped a vehicle for minor traffic violations in the area of S. Dixie and Sacramento. The driver, James V. Green (W/M/39), was found to have a suspended driver s license and was stuffing something in his pants. The item being stuffed was found to be 11g of Meth. A passenger, Angel L. Garinger (W/F/33), was found to have an entered warrant through Clark County for an original charge of Theft. Both were taken into custody without incident. 2017-55187 0035 An officer stopped a vehicle in the area of E. Dorothy and Shroyer Road for a minor traffic violation. The driver, Todd L. Brunson Jr. (B/M/18), was found to be driving under suspension and to have an entered KMC

warrant for FTA on an original charge of DUS. Brunson was arrested without incident. 2017-50247 0320 Officers were informed by victims of an earlier incident, involving a stolen vehicle, where a suspect, William D. Zale Jr. (W/M/29) may be located. A cell phone ping showed him to be in Clark County. Clark County SO found the vehicle and a pursuit ensued until it crashed off of Scarff Road. A K9 was dispatched for a track after Zale eluded capture on foot. After a track lasting almost an hour long, Zale was located and found to be overdosing. Zale was arrested on multiple charges through our Department and for a Nationwide Extradition warrant out of Florida (Felony). Zale currently is in the hospital receiving treatment for the overdose and injuries from the crash. 2017-55100 0350 An officer was dispatched to the KPD Jail for a subject Oakwood arrested on a KMC warrant. William A. Colton (W/M/66) was served with the warrant for FTA on an original charge of Criminal Trespassing. 2017-41902 Friday, November 3, 2017 0905 An officer was dispatched to 1605 Berwin on the report a Violation of a Temporary Protection Order. Ryan A. King, (W/M/33), violated the order by texting his ex-wife. King was located in Middletown, arrested and transported to the Kettering PD Jail. 2017-55214 1640 An officer stopped a vehicle at E. Stroop and Roslyn due to a suspected warrant on the owner/driver. Upon confirmation, Nicole D. Lucas (W/F/40) was placed under arrest for the Warren county warrant for FTA on Bad Checks, and transported to KDP without incident. 2017-55283 1731 Officers responded to Tabor and Wilmington on a Traffic Problem. Upon their arrival, they located Justin D. Lykins (W/M/43) unresponsive in his vehicle at the intersection. Forced entry into the vehicle was made and Lykins was pulled from the vehicle. Syringes and a small bag of suspected heroin were located. Officers arrested Lykins for OVI, Possession of Drugs, and Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments. 2017-55295

1953 Douglas A. Liggett (W/M/53) was found stumbling across Wilmington Pike near the library. He fell several times and could not maintain his balance. Liggett was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. Officers arrested Liggett for Disorderly Conduct / Public Intoxication and transported him to KPD Jail without incident. 2017-55319 2043 An officer was on patrol when she observed 2 young juveniles running into the street with no apparent supervision. Upon contacting the babysitter, a LEADS check revealed he had a warrant. Upon confirmation Ethan J. Howard (W/M/20) was placed under arrest for the Bellbrook PD warrant for FTA on original charge of OVI. The children were released to another adult on scene. 2017-55332 2344 Officer pursued a red BMV NB on S. Dixie for an equipment violation and suspected DUS. The vehicle fled NB at speeds less than 40 mph. Officers caught up to the pursuit at Stewart St. and Hopeland; the vehicle suddenly slowed to a stop. Ultimately, Robert A. Black (B/M/31) was arrested for public intoxication. The driver, Rolando C. Caver (B/M/33) was arrested for Failure to Comply. He was issued citations for Red Light violation and Window Tint. 2017-55360 Saturday, November 4, 2017 1550 Officers were dispatched to 621 Schuyler on the report of a family problem. Upon their arrival, they located Zachary Rainwater (W/M/32). Rainwater had several active warrants to include FTC / Original Charge Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments (Kettering), 2 through MCSO for Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments, and 1 through Trotwood for Possession of Heroin. Officers arrested Rainwater and transported him to KPD Jail without incident. 2017-55438, 2016-52361 1726 An officer conducted a traffic stop near Dixie and Cardington for an equipment violation. Investigation revealed that the driver, Jamont L. Hancock (B/M/38) had 2 active warrants through Montgomery County for FTA / Motion to Impose Support. Hancock was arrested on the warrants and was transported to the KPD jail without incident. 2017-55457 2040 Officers conducted a traffic stop on Smithville at Kim for an equipment violation. Upon investigation, it was discovered that Elvis E. Thaxton (W/M/38) was in possession of suspected methamphetamine. Thaxton

was arrested for Possession of Drugs and transported to KPD Jail without incident. 2017-55487 2242 An officer located Rolondo Sealey (B/M/58) in the parking lot of Speedway, 1020 E. Dorothy Ln. Sealey was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. He refused to contact anyone to care for him. He was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. Additionally, marijuana and a marijuana pipe were located in his possession and he was issued two summonses. 2017-55504 0139 Officers conducted a traffic stop on S. Dixie for a moving violation. Upon speaking to the driver, Brandon L. Cunningham (B/M/34) they learned he had an active warrant for his arrest. He was wanted out of the city of Dayton for an original charge of theft. He was arrested for such and issued citations for failure to signal and DUS. 2017-55527 Sunday, November 5, 2017 1550 Officers responded to 2909 Ghent on an attempted warrant service. Upon their arrival, they located Jaclyn M. Broadstone (W/F/34). Broadstone had an active warrant for Domestic Violence through Bellefontaine. The warrant was confirmed and officers took Broadstone into custody and transported her to KPD Jail without incident. 2017-55612 0350 Officers were dispatched to 2570 Woodman Dr for a suspicious person. Upon arrival, they made contact with David F. Phipps J. (W/M/37). They learned he had an active warrant for probation violation out of Miami County (original charge theft, no bond). They arrested Phipps without incident. 2017-55702 ###
