Solicitation Overview SOLICITATION PURPOSE: The City of Houston, Houston Airport System is looking for a Professional Engineering (PE) firm to submit Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for the design services at William P. Hobby Airport (HOU). FAA identified the northwest portion of the HOU airport is an area where too many runway/taxiway incursions have occurred; HAS is requesting redesign of this area to eliminate these Hot Spots. The qualified PE firm will provide such redesign services; all work shall be designed to meet latest FAA standards and procedures. 4

Final Design w/phasing 90% for HAS review including a) FAA submittal b) HAS permitting submittal c) Cost estimate + 10% 4. Issue for Bid 100% 24
Project Scope and Overview Other Elements included: Installation / Replacement of taxiways signage, edge lights and associated infrastructure. LED is recommended to be used for all taxiway edge lights. Installation of light fixtures, cable, spacers, multi-hole adapter rings and transformers where applicable along taxiway. New installation shall comply with the latest FAA requirements. Evaluate lighting circuits for loading capacity and quality of infrastructure and make recommendations. 25
Project Scope and Overview Other Elements included cont d: Analysis of storm drainage impacts, if any, and recommendations to maintain existing capacity in the area. Design of pavement underdrains and outfall. Re-grade where needed in areas of demolition All structures within safety area of the taxiways shall be aircraft rated. Design of temporary and final pavement markings per the latest FAA Advisory Circular. Other services needed to accomplish the intended purpose of the construction project within the allowable budget. Remember there is no wall in the field at the project limit lines on the drawings. 26
