Spring is the very best time to make a move. We are hugely blessed to have a very strong Central Iowa market. Downsizing and moving is a big step with lots of moving parts. We have lots of resources to help make this transition easier and low stress. We can help you with the following: Where do I start? What is the value of my home? Who do I call for help with sorting and packing? I need some work done on my house, who do I call? I need help putting the plan into action! Call Julie Moore with Re/MAX Real Estate Group to help answer your questions and guide you through the process. Julie Moore 515-778-8123 www.juliemooreteam.com THE STATE OF IOWA

Easy things I can start with now! Find a highly recommended, reputable realtor who has the time and expertise to help! It doesn t hurt to get a 2 nd or 3 rd opinion before making any big investments into your home! Do a walkthrough of your home, inside and out! Make a list of maintenance items that you think need addressed. Before you get them taken care of, get the realtors opinion. If it is a really old leaky faucet, rather than spend the money on it to fix, maybe consider an allowance to the buyer, as the new owners may update. Any broken or unusable items? Spring clean-up is around the corner, this is the year to get them to the curb! Connect with kids, family and friends if there are personal items that are waiting in the stages to go to a new home. Make that happen now! No more warehousing of kids possessions! Extra items in the pantry? Use them up, so you will have less to move. Now is the time to use those items that we all are saving for good! If we don t want to use them, there are many charities that would be honored to be recipients of your extra items! No disco parties around the corner? Maybe it is time to donate items from that era hanging in the back of the closet, to someone who will treasure/put them to fun use!

Use clear trashbags to encase items you want to keep so they don t get carried to the curb! Abstract of home? This you will need when you! If you find it, keep it in a safe place! Don t hand off to anyone without getting a receipt! Invite a friend or family member over to help keep you company as you work away! With warm weather coming, get the yard and landscape looking good! Get the overgrown bushes cut back. Are there overhanging branches from trees? Safety first! Lots of tree trimmers in town! Water is not our friend but caulk is! Hire a local handyman to come seal up all external openings to prevent any damage. Roof, chimney and vents? If you haven t had the roof checked for years, it is a good idea to have the roof evaluated and serviced to help extend the life of it! Furnace and air conditioner serviced? If you haven t done it for a few years, spring is a great time to make sure all is clean and in good working order before the sweltery weather hits. Water problems in the basement? Many times if we get gutters cleaned, add window well covers, add downspout extensions, we can make that problem go away!
