GSA GLOBAL SOURCING AWARDS 2018 This event will bring together over 400 of the world s leading strategic sourcing suppliers, support providers and buyers. Simply follow the three stages on the right and ensure that your entries abide by the general entry rules. STAGE 1 (Apply for the Awards) Decide which categories you wish to enter and familiarise yourself with the general entry rules. You may enter more than one category and you can submit more than one project per category. The same project can be submitted in more than one category. To apply to the GSA Global Awards just click on this LINK. Entry fee: 199 + VAT. This will allow you to submit to multiple categories. STAGE 2 (Write your Submissions) Please make sure that you mention on your submission which category the submission is for. Please set out your submission using the Key Headings. These Key Headings are weighted to help you identify areas of the utmost importance and judges will give preference to award submissions that adhere to them. Headings are key, the bullet points are provided as a suggestion. Please include your word count at the end of your submission. Entries that go over the word count will be penalised (all text over the word count will not be judged). TOP TIPS Include visuals where applicable after all a picture tells a 1000 words (words in pictures will not impact your word count but tables will) Try to name your clients make sure you give enough time for their approval Send your entry on time the judging process will start with or without you Keep your submission to the point and keep it interesting Take note of the key headings You can use bullet points, but ensure flow Involve someone close and someone removed from the project for the details and the sanity check Follow the marking criteria for percentages allocated per section When referring to best please reference the GSA Global Sourcing Standard Focus on new and up-to-date information in each section (try not to repeat yourself) Sell your project/yourself, not necessarily your company make sure you include the right information, it s not a sales pitch FAQs Q1. Is our submission eligible even though it only involves one country/continent? Yes. Single country projects/contracts are eligible as well as those involving multiple geographies. For example, your submission is still eligible if you are a UK based service provider working with a UK client. The only exception is Category 15 - Award for Delivering Business Value in Global Strategic Sourcing which must involve more than one country and/or continent. Q4. How do I gain access to the GSA Global Sourcing Standard? Credit is given to those demonstrating use of the GSA s Global Sourcing Standard, this is to ensure best is demonstrated. The Global Sourcing Standard is available in the Knowledge Centre of the GSA website for members. For non-members, once the 199 + VAT entry fee has been received we can send you an overview of the Global Sourcing Standard; please email admin@gsa-uk.com for details. If you have lost your GSA membership login details please contact the GSA by calling +44 (0)207 292 8686. Q5. My organisation is not a member of the GSA, can I still enter? Yes, both non-member and members are required to pay an entry fee of 199 + VAT and this will allow you to enter multiple categories. Q2. Is our submission considered to be a live project between January 2017 and March 2018? Whether the project in question is being formulated, implemented or has ceased to exist but was still on-going at any time between January 2017 and March 2018 this is considered to be live and therefore eligible for submission. Q3. Can we submit the same project more than once? Yes, we do however request that you tailor each submission to reflect the requirements of each category.

SYNOPSIS GUIDELINES Each submission is invited to include a 500-word synopsis. Those that win their category will be selected as part of the post event Commemorative Supplement content provided that it adheres to the below guidelines. The supplement will be distributed as an e-book to the GSA s entire community nationally and globally making this is a powerful PR opportunity to showcase your capabilities before a qualified audience of over 18,000 strategic sourcing aficionados. To assist you in providing an informative article which is assured to get published, please follow the below guidelines. If you do not submit a synopsis we will assume you do not wish to be included in the supplement. Format: The synopsis should tell the story of your submission and bring it to life There is a suggested word limit of 500 words. Please deliver at least 500 and do not go over 550 Use bullet-points to help include as much information as succinctly as possible Please write the article in the third person i.e. from the company perspective - not we/i Content: The article can be structured as you like but it should address the below bullet points and should focus on a particular client project/case study that is included in your main entry. Introduction please intro the companies involved in the project including size, specialism and sectors Project objectives and business drivers (vis-à-vis the overall programme) Challenges within the project Approaches to best, governance and innovation Results of the project (including social outcomes, where applicable) Please include quotes from clients and internal stakeholders Images: Please provide photos of quoted spokespeople Alternative related images (which have copyright approvals to be published) A high-resolution image of your logo Notes: Please be aware that this article is not for the judges, and has no bearing on winning. Due to the high quality editorial nature of this publication, we will not publish any marketing documents for companies, therefore if you submit such materials, your synopsis will not be included and you will miss out on this great PR opportunity. This award will be judged on the basis of a consultancies ability to deliver both initial and ongoing business value to clients, incorporating best, continuous service innovation and also demonstrable commitment to the development and future of the industry. 7. PARTNER COLLABORATION PROJECT OF THE YEAR Buy-side entries as well as submissions from supplier and support services are permitted. This award will be judged on the basis of a company s ability to best showcase a collaborative partner ecosystem whether it s a multi-sourcing, SIAM or other partner based model, from buyer or service provider/partner perspective. The ecosystem can involve one or more countries. Submissions should demonstrate what model they implemented and how this model has delivered both initial and ongoing business value to clients or those involved in the ecosystem, incorporating best & continuous service innovation. Objectives: 15% What were the key project objectives? Why was your partner ecosystem strategy implemented? Open to buy-side, supplier and support organisations operating in one or more countries. The Digital Transformation Project of the Year will be judged on the basis of its ability to deliver both initial and ongoing business value to the client, incorporating both best and continuous service innovation. Strategy: 10% Please state the start date and completion date of the project and term Include the key project objectives Detail the business case and development of the strategic approach for delivery thereof the relationship Implementation: 25% Please state the start date and completion date of the project How many partners were involved in the project and how was this managed? Please name your partners in the eco system and outline their involvement in the project Evaluation: 30% How did you measure the success of the project? e.g. improved quality of service, improved SLAs/KPI s etc. How did the objectives compare to client deliverables achieved? statistics for the client s tangible return on investment (ROI) Best : 15% How did the project demonstrate best in collaborative partnering and collective responsibility? communication and a collaborative 8. 9. EXCELLENCE IN CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY Open to single company CSR projects from supplier and support organisations that operate in the strategic sourcing industry. Also open to buyers that work together with their service providers on CSR projects. Implementation: 30% How was the project delivered to ensure it met set objectives? How were the decisions made? Please state the start date and completion date of the project If a joint entry is submitted as a buyer/supplier, please ensure you demonstrate how you worked together throughout the project. We will be accepting charitable, community development and green initiatives within this CSR category. Objectives: 15% Explain the background of the initiative and give the reasoning behind it? Detail the project objectives Open to buy-side, supplier and support organisations operating in one or more countries. This award will recognise an exemplary approach to innovation. It is not focused on the launch of an innovative product unless that product brings direct innovation to the strategic sourcing industry. Definition: 10% What was the understanding between buyer and supplier organisations of what "innovation" means in the context of their sourcing relationship? Strategy: 30% Describe the "innovation" from idea to delivery, how it came about, sponsorship, development and delivery How "innovative" is the solution, in the context of the specific sourcing relationship? What capabilities did the buyer(s) use to deliver the innovation? What capabilities did the supplier(s) use to deliver the innovation? Evaluation: 30% Who were the stakeholders and what did the CSR initiative deliver to all stakeholders? statistics for deliverables for all the stakeholders - tangible return on investment (RoI) if possible If the CSR initiative is not for your own company expand on how you achieved the objectives for your client? 11. GLOBAL DESTINATION OF THE YEAR Open to buyers, suppliers, support services and destination management organisations who wish to nominate a strategic sourcing location.
