EVENT INFORMATION Event Registration 11:45 a.m. 12:45 p.m. Baker Pattillo Student Center, First Floor Complete a registration card and receive further instructions and information. Opening Programs 12:45 1:15 p.m. The opening programs provide a friendly Lumberjack welcome to SFA and an overview of the day s events. Three simultaneous opening programs will occur in the Grand Ballroom, located in the Baker Pattillo Student Center; the Twilight Ballroom, located in the Baker Pattillo Student Center; and Kennedy Auditorium. Guests may then visit the following areas: Academic Fair 1:30 4 p.m. Student Recreation Center Representatives from each academic department and other academic support services will be available to discuss areas of interest. A complete list of SFA s areas of study and an Academic Fair map are located on pages 4-5 in this program. Campus Showcase Tours 1:30 5 p.m. (Last tours leave at 4:30 p.m.) Two Start locations: SFA courtyard in front of Rusk Building (ends at Student Recreation Center) Student Recreation Center (ends at Rusk Building) Every 20 minutes, SFA students will be available to lead you on a brief showcase tour. The tour is meant to give you a better understanding of the day s events and a student s perspective of the SFA experience. This is not a full campus tour. Residence Hall Tours 1:30 5 p.m. Use the enclosed map and on-campus signage to take a self-guided tour of your choice of residential facilities. Residence Life members will be available to help familiarize you with each facility. Office of Admissions - Counseling 1:30 5 p.m. Rusk Building, Room 206 Admissions counselors will be available to conduct status checks and discuss specific concerns of students who have applied for admission. Questions regarding residency and Veterans Affairs/ GI Bill benefits also may be directed here. Applications and other literature will be available. Student Services Fair 2:30 4:30 p.m. Baker Pattillo Student Center, First Floor Representatives from many student support services will be available to discuss areas of interest. See page 7 for Student Services Fair map. Residence Life Information Sessions 2:30, 3:15 and 4 p.m. Baker Pattillo Student Center - Theater, Second Floor Residence Life will present information on SFA s residential facilities, policies and the benefits of living on campus. Financial Aid Information Sessions* 2:30, 3:15 and 4 p.m. Baker Pattillo Student Center - Twilight Ballroom, Second Floor Staff from the Office of Student Financial Assistance will present information on grants, loans, work-study programs and scholarships. Information tables will be available until 5 p.m. *If you would like to know the status of your financial aid package, please call (936) 468-2403, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Freshman Admissions Sessions* 2:30, 3:15 and 4 p.m. Baker Pattillo Student Center - Tiered Meeting Room, Second Floor An admissions counselor will provide details regarding SFA s admission process for high school students who have not yet applied for admission. The information will include freshman admission standards, application guidelines and additional requirements. *Current high school students enrolled in dual credit courses are considered incoming freshmen when applying for the semester directly following their high school graduation. Transfer Admissions Sessions 3:15 and 4 p.m. Baker Pattillo Student Center - Multimedia Room, Second Floor (by Starbucks) An admissions counselor will provide details regarding the admission process for students who wish to transfer to SFA from any college or university. The information will include transfer admission standards, application guidelines and additional requirements. Orientation Information Sessions* 3:15 and 4 p.m. Baker Pattillo Student Center - Regents Suite B, Second Floor Staff from the Office of Orientation Programs will present information on summer freshman and transfer orientation. Information will be available and payments accepted until 3:30 p.m. *Payments also will be accepted at the Student Services Fair from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Program Evaluation and T-shirt Give-Away 4:30 5 p.m. Rusk Building Courtyard Beginning at 4:30 p.m., turn in your completed evaluation located on pages 11 and 12 of this program for a free SFA T-shirt (students only please). NOTE: The Richard and Lucille DeWitt School of Nursing will host two tours: First tour will begin at 2:30 p.m. Second tour will begin at 3:30 p.m. 2
