What is Visual Smart Board - VSB? VSB displays the most current patient data available based on a Master NPR report. Data refreshes at customer defined intervals. Data is displayed in a spreadsheet format. VSB worklists are created based on the workflow requirements of many different types of MEDITECH users including Financial & Clinical endusers. Data can be filtered to provide a pared down version, or alternate display. Provides easy navigation to Visual Flowsheet & other routines & menus.
Functionality VSB Functionality Color may be utilized to alert the user to abnormal information or may be assigned based on other parameters. Audio cues may be enabled to alert the user to changes to the worklist based on data or time parameters. Hovers provide additional information that is associated with the primary data displayed in the cell. Double-clicking on any row provides quick access to the most frequently utilized routine or menu. Cells may have a right-click routine assigned that is related to the data that is displayed.

Clinical Library: VSB-N Purpose of View: Provides a list of inpatients & their current data to assist with clinical decision-making. Use of color & bolded text/numbers alerts the nurse to abnormal or critical LAB values. Additional customized patient lists may be created based on: o Facility o Location o Nurse Assignment Standard VSB Functionality: Hovers provide additional clinical detail. Double-clicking on any row provides quick access to the most frequently utilized routine or menu. Using the Toolbar, the staff member can click on MEDITECH routines &/or menus.

Clinical Library: Dietary Purpose of View: This VSB view provides a display of data that can assist the Dietary staff with clinical decision-making. Use of color & bolded text/numbers alerts the clinician to abnormal BMI, LAB values, or Registered Dietician Notes. Additional customized patient list may be created for the Registered Dietician based on: o Patient Location o Diet Order o Dietary Consult o Abnormal LAB Test

Clinical Library: Diabetes Management Purpose of View: This VSB view provides a list of inpatients who are being monitored for Tight Glycemic Control. Patients populate the list based on the following criteria: o prescribed diabetic medication o active Glucose Checks or Diabetes-related NUR intervention specify NUR Interventions o post-operative status specify NUR intervention(s) Use of color & bolded text/number alerts the nurse to abnormal or critical LAB values.

Clinical Library: Infection Control Purpose of View: For use by clinicians who monitor patients for infectious processes, this VSB view provides a display of inpatients who: Have an active infectious process as identified by having a positive MICRO result Are at risk for infection as identified by: o post-operative status o active NUR interventions such as: Foley Catheter, Mechanical Vent, Central Line, Dressings o NUR Plan of Care o antimicrobial therapy prescribed o diabetic medication prescribed The use of red & bolded numbers/text alerts the clinician to abnormal results or if the patient is on Isolation. Clinical Library: NUR Skill List Purpose of View: This VSB view provides a display of NUR Skills that are associated with an employee. These skills are defined in the NUR Skills dictionary. Quickly identify available interpreters. Licensing dates can be easily managed: o Blue when date occurs within the next thirty days. o Red when date has passed. Oversee critical administrative deadlines: ACLS, CPR, TB Skin Test, Next Evaluation date.

Clinical Library: Pharmacy Dashboard Purpose of View: This VSB can contribute to efficiency in Pharmacists workflow by providing a list of medications that require processing. Medication orders populate this list based on the following criteria: o Unverified by Pharmacist o Held by Nursing staff o One-time Medication Orders Text displays in red/bold when a medication is in an Unverified status. Text displays in blue/bold when a medication is being held by Nursing staff. Tool bar provides easy navigation to routines necessary to manage medication orders. Double-click can be assigned to most frequently utilized routine. CDS may be utilized to update the VSB for internal communication.

Clinical Library: Influenza Profile Purpose of View: This VSB view provides a display of data that can assist in managing Influenza patients during an outbreak. Patients populate the list based on the following criteria: o identified Influenza symptoms o positive Flu antibody test Use of color & bolded text/numbers alerts the clinician to patients on Isolation, abnormal LAB values, or abnormal Vital Signs. Includes Clinician Exposure report that lists all of the staff members that have had contact with a specific patient per documentation filed in MEDITECH.

Clinical Library: Anticoagulation Purpose of View: This VSB provides a list of patients that have been prescribed anticoagulation therapy. Patients populate the list based on the following criteria: o prescribed a medication from the drug class 20:12.04 Use of color & bolded data alerts the clinician to patients with abnormal LAB values. Hover over Anticoagulant field provides details of the medication(s) prescribed: Rx number Full Sig Start/Stop date/time Hover over the Last Dose field provides details as to when medication was last administered.
