Tools and Resources for the New and Experienced Oncology Nurse Navigator & Oncology Care Coordinator The ONS Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN) Toolkit was created by the leadership team of the Nurse Navigation and Care Coordination Community. For ease of use, the toolkit is divided into sections relevant to specific areas of navigation. A description of the resource and corresponding link are also provided. It is our hope that you will find the information you need to effectively build sustainable navigation programs or enhance existing ones. The course covers 9 dimensions of the RN s care coordination and transition management role and related competencies. The first module is offered at no cost and includes 2.4 contact hours. AONN + Nurse Navigation Certification Offers general nurse navigation certification exam. National Consortium of Breast Centers (NCBC) Breast Patient Navigation Certification Program (6 certifications offered, individual designation based on licensure) Involves sitting for an exam: Must be a licensed medical professional, navigate breast patients at least 50% of the time, and a minimum of 2 years of experience is recommended. http://www2.bpnc.org/certification/ Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (Certification) Offers initial certification in specific oncology specialties for eligible applicants: AOCNP, AOCNS, OCN, CPHON, CBCN and BMTCN and renewal of certification for eligible applicants: OCN, AOCNP, AOCN, CPON and CPHON. Certificate programs offered: Chemotherapy Biotherapy and Radiation Oncology Nursing.
