Curretly, we have over 7,500 employees, icludig our subcotractors. This is up from almost 1,500 people i Jauary 2007. Growig our workforce with ew people employed i the civil egieerig, earthworks, costructio ad miig sectors i Idoesia requires us to build their safety kowledge as may of them are from traditioally agriculture-based livelihoods. To help achieve this, we recetly itroduced the Rules for L.I.F.E comic book ad the Why Strive for L.I.F.E iductio video. These two iitiatives are desiged to provide us with ways to better commuicate the key safety messages ad importat safety rules that are eeded to support Strive for L.I.F.E. We expect each project to have the safety cotrols listed i writig, explaied to all workers ad applied for the duratio of the task before ay high-risk activities are carried out. The use of two-way radios to commuicate key messages is particularly importat as this keeps supervisors i touch with their crews, eables the effective coordiatio of equipmet ad the timely reportig ad commuicatio of hazards ad is a essetial part of emergecy ad icidet field commad maagemet. HONG KONG Next Step Chage Followig a comprehesive review of safety withi our Hog Kog operatio i 2011, we are redoublig our efforts to protect our people ad esure a safe workig eviromet by implemetig the Strive for L.I.F.E Next Step Chage 5 Pillar Strategy. IRAQ Oil spill emergecy preparedess To ehace our preparedess ad ability to operate oil spill recovery equipmet, we successfully staged a offshore oil spill emergecy respose exercise with Lamor Swire ad the South Oil Compay. The exercise was coducted as part of the first phase of the Iraq Crude Oil Export Expasio Project that we are curretly udertakig. The exercise was a valuable experiece for everyoe i the offshore teams ad crews ad ivolved the use of various oil spill recovery equipmet, icludig a 200-metre log heavy-duty boom, power packs, air fas, a weir skimmer to remove oil from the water, oil cotaimet booms ad others. INDIA Promotig evirometal awareess Commuity road safety drive Our team istallig submarie pipelies ad a Sigle Poit Moorig system for Magalore Refiery ad Petrochemicals orgaised a road safety awareess programme as part of Natioal Safety Day activities o 5 March. Every six moths, we coduct stakeholder moitorig. This is required to assess the impact of our work o various stakeholders. Also icluded are plas for maitaiig good relatios with these stakeholders. A topography assessmet ad hydrotest water assessmet are carried out oce work o the project is complete. The topography assessmet covers surveys of lad topography ad offshore bathymetry. For the hydrotest water assessmet, we ispect the quality of the water prior to dischargig it. A sample of the water is take ad set for aalysis. The results of the aalysis are used with other data i a evirometal risk assessmet to determie whether the water is safe for use. Sigapore I a series of health, safety ad evirometal assessmets early this year, our joit veture project team costructig Jala Besar Statio i Sigapore recorded outstadig results of bad III or higher uder the Costructio Safety Audit Scorig System. Our project i Sigapore also achieved OHSAS 18001 for occupatioal health ad safety ad ISO 14001 for evirometal maagemet i the certificatios we hold. Idoesia I recogitio of our safety efforts at the Balikpapa Support Facility i Kalimata, we were hooured with a Zero Accidet Award by Idoesia s Miister of Mapower ad Trasmigratio, Bapak Muhaimi Iskadar, o 25 April. The award covered the 91-moth period from 1 July 2004 to 31 Jauary 2012 ad reflected the absece of lost time ijuries at the facility as well as the importace we attach to the safety ad wellbeig of our workforce. The facility, which provides equipmet, maiteace, logistical ad traiig support to Idia our miig projects i Idoesia, Despite some very challegig coditios, two of our projects i Idia recetly achieved more tha 3 have recorded outstadig safety performaces. At the Ramauja IT millio ma-hours without a sigle Park, where we are workig i a alliace cotract, more tha 9.6 millio lost time ijury. ma-hours were recorded without a sigle lost time ijury while 1.7 millio ma-hours were reached at the Visakhapatam Port Project.
