November 14, 2017 JBM-HH E - NEWSLETTER A History of Innovation, A Future of Success Digital Photography Contest Come and participate in the JBM-HH Digital Photography Contest to qualify to participate in the 2017 Army Digital Photography Contest from November 9, 2017 through November 28, 2018. The contest will be held in the Community Center November24, 2017. A panel of four members from the Community will select the winners to go forward and represent JBM-HH in the 2017 Army Digital Photography Contest. There will be two (2) Divisions: 1. Military: Active Duty Military members 2. Other Eligible Participants: Family Members, Retirees, Civilians, Contractors, etc. (per AR 215-1) There will be seven (7) categories (within each division): 1. Animals: Pets, birds, reptiles, amphibians, zoo animals, farm/domesticated animals, insects, etc. 2. Design Elements: Photos that emphasize line, shape, pattern, form, texture perspective can be any subject matter. Note: this is not a category for graphic illustrations made in a program like Adobe Illustrator, nor would extreme digital creations belong in this category. This is for line, shape, pattern, etc. 3. Digital Darkroom: Photos created/altered with computer software which demonstrate art, creativity, impact, with digital alteration the main focus of image (include the digital techniques used to create the picture on each entry) 4. Military Life: Photos that portray military life 5. Nature & Landscapes: Landscapes, outdoor scenes, nature images, sunsets, urban landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, farms, floral, etc. 6. People: Photos where a person is the main focus. It may require model release (see Model/ Property Release information) 7. ARUSAHC On Jan. 1, 2018, there are a number of changes coming to your TRICARE benefit. This includes a change to the current TRICARE regions. In preparation for this change, enrollments in TRI- CARE health plans will be delayed while beneficiary files are transferred to the incoming regional contractors. The delay period, or an enrollment freeze, will begin on Dec. 1, 2017 and last approximately three weeks, or until the data transfer is complete. Also, cost changes for TRICARE benefits transition from a fiscal year period to a calendar year period. This includes retirees and their family members in TRICARE Prime, TRICARE Retired Reserve, TRICARE Reserve Select and those in TRICARE Young Adult plans. Wainwright Rd. Closure October 31, 2017 Weather permitting, Dominion Energy road crews will work behind Building 248, closing a section of Wainwright Road between Macomb Place and Henry Place Nov. 6 through 18 as part of the first phase of duct bank installation. Workers will continue along different sections of Wainwright Road in successive weeks, closing sections between Henry Place and Reba Place Nov. 20 to Dec. 8 and between Reba Place and Jackson Avenue Dec. 11 to 29. Summerall Field Parking Lot Policies Summer Field parking is for short-term, day parking Summerall Field Parking lot is not a longterm lot, for instance for Soldiers who may be on leave, or even deployed; this includes civilians. If you are going to be on leave, be sure to let your chain of command know of your activities, but park your POV in the Tri-Services parking area. When a POV is parked long-term in the Summerall Field parking area, it is likely the car will be towed at owner's expense. In the event Tri-Services parking lot must be used for an unanticipated mission, vehicles may be moved, but not towed.
