Area SADA Practice groups besides the monthly meeting: Shelby Strummers: Meet at Camp Branch Methodist Church on 123 Camp Branch Rd. in Alabaster, every other Tuesday of each month. Jams begin at noon and last until 2 pm. Call Sallie and Bob Sutton on 205-668-0659 for directions and current practice times, since occasionally the group plays at nursing homes or is canceled due to church activities or other scheduling conflicts. There are lessons on the other Tuesdays for beginners. A few loaner dulcimers are available. Other acoustic instruments are welcome! Trussville Joyful Jammers: Meet at the First Baptist Church on 128 N Chalkville Rd in Trussville, AL every Thursday evening at 6 PM room #206. Enter at the parking lot between Willow and Walnut streets, come in the corner door and take the elevator (to the left) to the 2nd floor. News Due to a conflict at Bethlehem Church, the November 2016 meeting has been moved back to the first Saturday in November, which will be November 5 th. We appreciate the work of past vice presidents Dennis Jones and Nancy McIntosh and want to give them a special Thank-You for everything they have done. Sharing our Dulcimer Music: Shelby Strummers played at the Chandler Nursing home in Alabaster on September 27, 2016 and they requested that we come back again soon. Shelby Strummers will be hosting a jam at the Old Baker Farm on October 15, 2016 beginning at 10:00 a.m.. All are welcome to come join in the jam. Joyful Jammers will play at Brookdale Retirement Center on Oct. 27, 2016, SADA will play at Rocky Ridge Retirement Center- November 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. SADA-Will perform at the Shades Mountain Elementary School Care Program. 11-17-2016 at 3:30 PM. SADA Shelby Strummers will perform an An Old Time Music Fest at the Montevallo Parnell Public Library on 11-15-2016 from 6:30-8:00 PM. SADA Joyful Jammers- will perform a Christmas music program at First Baptist Centerpoint Church at 11:00 AM on Dec. 8, 2016. In Memoriam- Nancy Bawcum, a long time member of SADA who taught dulcimer classes for many years passed away in August, 2016. She will be missed greatly by her family, as well as her many friends in the dulcimer community.
