The Ivetory Plaig (INP) module i BaaERP The INP cocept as applied i BaaERP INP s fuctioal procedures The modules that are related to INP The fuctioality of INP s busiess objects 1.1 The INP cocept as applied i BaaERP I a compay that hadles ivetory, it is useful to be able to review the plaed ivetory (movemets). BaaERP offers the fuctioality: To review ad rebuild plaed ivetory trasactios Plaed ivetory trasactios are future chages i the ivetory levels caused by plaed orders for items. If the plaed ivetory trasactios are extremely uequal to your expectatios or if the ivetory is damaged by a calamity, you ca rebuild the plaed ivetory trasactios. To commit (plaed) ivetory I busiess practice it ca be desirable to reserve ivetory for specific orders to esure that the issued items are available for the specific orders i a specific warehouse. Committed ivetory is ot available for other orders. Figure 1 shows how the INP module is positioed i BaaERP. You ca also prit reports ad graphs of the plaed ivetory trasactios. INP uses the data of plaed ivetory movemets that are registered i BaaERP. This data is also used by CP for material plaig. INP is ot a madatory module, therefore you ca use BaaERP without implemetig INP. Ivetory Plaig 1-1

The Ivetory Plaig (INP) module i BaaERP INH allows maual iput of warehousig orders of Issue type, which are tracked by INP by meas of the plaed ivetory trasactios. INP also seds iformatio about plaed ivetory trasactios to INH. WMD allows item ivetory data to be set up ad maitaied. This data holds the ivetory couters for O hold, O Hold Committed, Allocated ad so o. INA receives data which allows the calculatio of time-phased stock ad ecoomic stock. INR receives data cocerig the ivetory level (O Order, Allocated, ad so o). 1.4 The fuctioality of INP s busiess objects INP cotais the followig busiess objects: Plaed Ivetory Trasactios Ivetory Commitmet Figure 3 shows the mai flow betwee the INP busiess objects. The Ivetory Plaig (INP) module i BaaERP Plaed Ivetory Trasactios This busiess object allows you to pla for future fluctuatios i ivetory levels. Fluctuatios ca be caused by plaed trasactios emaatig from PUR, SLS, SFC, SOC ad PSS, all of which cause a warehousig order to be geerated i INH. This busiess object is also used to calculate: Ecoomic stock Statistical ivetory cotrol Time-phased order poit Example Note Ivetory Commitmet Ucommitted ivetory ca be used to fulfil ay warehouse order. The process of committig ivetory (formerly called hard allocatio) commits ivetory to a specific order. BaaERP calculates the ivetory that is available for other orders without icludig committed ivetory. It also checks each order to see whether a ivetory commitmet has bee made. This is ecessary before items ca be retrieved correctly from ivetory. Ivetory ca also be decommitted if this is required. A service order asks for a certai quatity of items. So, the origiatig package (SOC) geerates a plaed ivetory trasactio. INP keeps track of all plaed ivetory trasactios, whether a warehousig order has bee geerated or ot. For these orders, the available ivetory is committed. Later, INH triggers a warehousig order of the Issue type. The commitmet of ivetory ca be iitiated by ay package that is able to geerate a plaed ivetory trasactio., Automatic commitmet is possible for sales orders oly. You ca also maually commit ivetory to override ay commitmet of ivetory. Error Recovery This is ot a INP busiess object, but a stadard suite of fuctioality built ito BaaERP to hadle system failures, database corruptios ad other such disasters. It feeds recovered data to the Plaed Ivetory Trasactios busiess object i INP ad to the IBD module i Baa Commo. The Plaed Ivetory Trasactios busiess object the uses the data to rebuild the Plaed Ivetory Trasactios database. Ivetory Plaig 1-4

Geeratio of plaed ivetory trasactios Plaed ivetory trasactios are geerated by the SLS, PUR, SFC, INH, SOC ad PSS modules at the poit whe, for example, a sales order is etered i SLS, or a productio order is etered i SFC. The trasactios ca the be viewed i Step 2. Plaed Ivetory Trasactios by Item (whip1500m000) Plaed Ivetory Trasactios by Order (whip1501m000) Plaed Ivetory Trasactios by Order Type (whip1502m000) Plaed Ivetory Movemets by Item (whip1700m000) Use ay of these sessios optioally to display details of the plaed ivetory trasactios before you perform the rebuild i Step 3. Rebuild Ivetory Trasactios (whip1200m000) Use this sessio to rebuild the database of plaed ivetory trasactios. The cosequece of rebuildig the plaed ivetory trasactios is that the ivetory data is updated. Therefore, the sessio also recalculates the allocated ivetory ad the ivetory o order. BaaERP cosiders orders of all types whe the plaed ivetory trasactios are rebuilt. Effects i IBD ad WMD As a result of rebuildig the ivetory trasactios, allocated ivetory ad ivetory o order are updated i WMD. The geeratio of a plaed ivetory trasactio iitiates the ivetory-commitmet procedure. INP keeps track of all plaed ivetory trasactios, whether a warehousig order has bee geerated or ot. Sales orders ca be set to automatically geerate a ivetory commitmet accordig to the parameters i the Item Sales Data (tdisa0101s000). This oly applies to sales orders. No other module ca automatically geerate ivetory commitmet. You ca hadle sales orders i the SLS module ad you ca specify item sales data i the ISA module. The ivetory commitmet ca be updated as log as the correspodig warehouse-order lie (if ay) has the value 0 i the Quatity Advised field i the Outboud Advice (whih2125s000) sessio (that is, o outboud advice has bee geerated). You ca also use this sessio to commit ivetory to a special order type kow as a buffer. This has the effect of reservig ivetory without committig it to a specific order. You ca the trasfer the ivetory from the ivetory buffer to the relevat order (see Step 4.). However, you ca oly access the Cosumptio of the Ivetory Buffers (whip2202m000) sessio from the Ivetory Commitmets (whip2500m000) sessio (see Step 2.). Cosumptio of the Ivetory Buffers (whip2202m000) Use this sessio to commit ivetory that was previously reserved i ivetory buffers (see Step 3) to specific orders. After cosumig the ivetory buffers, the ivetory buffers ad the destiatio order data are updated with the quatity i the Trasfer field. If a buffer has bee completely cosumed, it is deleted. Geerate Ivetory Commitmet (whip2200m000) Use this sessio to geerate ivetory commitmets of (ublocked) ivetory for orders of Issue type that have ot yet bee fully committed. Whe you geerate ivetory commitmet (hard allocatio), BaaERP commits the required ivetory to a specific order lie. As a result, the available ivetory for other orders or other order lies is decreased. To geerate commitmets: Assig priorities to the orders of the differet order types Set the processig order per order type The order type priorities are used if BaaERP geerates precise ivetory assigmets to order lies. You caot commit order lies for warehouses of Project type. A report is prited, which cotais the geerated ivetory commitmet. Ivetory Plaig 2-4

This sessio ca be used to decommit the ivetory that has bee committed to orders i the followig sessios: Ivetory Commitmet (whip2100s000 Geerate Ivetory Commitmet (whip2200m000) Cosumptio of the Ivetory Buffers (whip2202m000) The ivetory caot be decommitted if the commitmet has bee defied as firm (that is, the Firm field i the Ivetory Commitmet (whip2100s000) sessio is selected). The committed ivetory ca be de-committed as log as the correspodig warehouse-order lie (if ay) has the value 0 i the Quatity Advised field i the Outboud Advice (whih2120s000) sessio (that is, o outboud advice has bee geerated). A report is created whe you decommit committed ivetory to orders. The created report cotais the ivetory commitmet that is removed by usig this sessio.
