Email saved application to outreach.coe@ttu.edu from your TTU email Overview of Program: This camp will provide an opportunity to spend a week learning about the Whitacre College of Engineering at Texas Tech University. Participants will be introduced to each engineering discipline, attend classes and participate in hands-on activities. Participants will also learn about Texas Tech University admissions, financial aid, campus life and traditions. Participants will reside on campus in a residence hall to complete a real-life college experience. Counselors will ensure camper safety, encourage learning of the engineering disciplines, and assist Explore Engineering staff. In order to be eligible to be a counselor for the Explore Engineering summer program, applicants must complete all necessary paperwork, attend counselor training on June 7, complete the Sexual Abuse/Child Molestation Prevention training, and sing the Explore Engineering Guidelines. Counselor hours vary according to the level under which they are hired (last page). The camp will run from June 18, 2017 12pm to June 23, 2017 12pm. Counselor Employment We are hiring 3 levels of Explore Engineering counselors, as detailed below. Please check mark the level at which you wish to be employed. In addition, please attach your Summer 1 schedule if you plan to take classes during the Summer 1 Session (Quarter-Time only). Counselors will be obligated to work the hours scheduled below if hired for their desired position. Explore Engineering Counselors must contact EOC staff immediately if their selected counselor schedule must be altered in any way. Full-Time Full-time counselors (FTC) will be with the campers at all times, helping students with projects, camp logistics, and attending classes. These counselors will be our Head Counselors, assisting EOC staff to make sure every component of camp is seamless, counselors have the support they need, and every camper is safe. All meals of camp will be provided to FTC counselors at no cost to them. FTC will stay in Bledsoe the week of the camp at no cost to them. Due to the camp schedule, FTC cannot take Summer 1 Session courses. *Overnight hourly rate adjusted as appropriate. Total Pay: $750 Positions Available: 6 Shift: Sunday (6.18.17) 12pm Friday (6.23.17) 12pm* Half-Time Half-time counselors (HTC) will be with the campers during project meetings, meals, classes, and campus activities. These counselors will serve as Team Project Mentors, assisting in campers staying safe and supporting campers as they complete their Explore Engineering project. All meals of camp will be provided to HTC counselors at no cost to them. No housing will be provided for HTC. Due to the camp schedule, HTC cannot take Summer 1 Session courses. Total Pay: $515 Positions Available: 6 Shift: Sunday (6.18.17) 12pm 8pm, Monday Thursday (6.19.17 6.22.17) 8am-8pm, Friday (6.23.17) 8am-12pm Quarter-Time Quarter-time counselors (QTC) will work to keep campers safe as they enjoy camp, travel with campers between classes, and support EOC staff. These counselors will encourage campers and assist FTC and HTC as needed. One meal (of their choice) will be provided to QTC per day the week of Explore Engineering. QTC can take Summer 1 Session courses.
