Duties and functions of Director Land Records/ Inspector General of Registration are defined under Para 207 of the Punjab land Administration Manual and para 1.1 to 1.8 Chapter-l of land records Manual 2. The powers and duties of the officers and employees are defined under Para 1.1 to 1.8 chapter-i ofh.p. Land records Manual 3. All the decisions are taken by this department in accordance with the provision of the Act & Rule/ Bye laws. 4. The Head of Department prescribes the duties of employees of the Directorate and supervises their performance and fixes accountability ofthe staff. 5. (i) The construction! repair work of PatwarkhanaiKanungo buildings through field agencies (ii)conducting of departmental examination of kanungos & document writers(ii) Inspection of Registrar and Sub-Registrar's office in Himachal Pradesh. 6. All the documents related to the revenue records are maintained in the record rooms under the control of Distt./Sub-Diviison Collectors. 7. Policy 8. Employees:- POWERS DIRECTOR LAND RECORDS-CUM-INSPECTOR GENERAL OF REGISTRATION:_ (i) Head ofthe Deportment (ii) Director Land Record is also the Head of Department of the p~ & Kanungo Agency. He ma.y issue direction to the Diitt. Collectors in the maintenance of record of rights and revenue registers, He advises the Financial Commissioner and the Govt. on revenue matters. (iii) The Director Land Records has been appointed as ex-officio Inspector General of Registration under the regiarationact, 1908. He exercise control and supervision on the working of Registrars and Sub-Regiarera in the Pradesh. (iv) The Director land Records has also been appointed as Director Consolidation ofholdings in Addition to his own duties. (v) The Director of Land Record; has also been appointed as Registrar, Chit (vi) (vii) (i) (ii) (iii) funds under the chit funds Act, 1982..... lhe Director of Land Record is Head. ofdepartment as regerds income from:- Mutation Fees, Copying and inspection fees of'pawarisrecords; Copying fee for the preparation of produce statements and five yearly abstracts of yield. All expenditure ofestablislunent and contingencies connected with the Kanungo and Patwari establishment and the revenue records. (iv) To conduct Departmental Kanungo examination.. DUTIES:- " (a) Land Records, the Kanungo & Patwsri establiahment; Patwarl Revenue Training school and establishment. His duties with regerd to settlements are as follows».. (1) The position of the Director of Land ' Record jn regard to map correction and revision of records in settlement is defined in land Administration ManuaL He will and the settlement officer with his advice, but on matters requiring orders he will report to the Financial Commissioner who will Issue his orders to the Settlement Officerthrough the Commissioner ofthe Division. (2) The quarterly business returns in districts under settlement, the statements Iv & V in duplicae OI'e forwarded by Settlement Officer with his comments to the Director Land Records his remarks and forwards them to the Commissioner who forwards them to the Financial Commissioner, (b) Farm Harvest prices, weather reports, return ofwages, distribution of Kisan Pass Books, returns of agricultural statistics, Crop Cutting Experiments, Cattle Census, Agricultural Census, Minor' Irrigation Census, Crop Estimation Survey on Fruits, Vegetables and Minor Crops. Director of Land Records is generally confined to the records field and registers maintained, in Tehsil and District Offices, but they are at liberty to inspect such records which are in the custody of the filed staff i.e.patwaris and Kanungos. All reports by the Director of Land Records/AddI./JointlDy.Director of Land Records on their inspection of the land records of any Distt. Or Tehsil shall be submitted by them to the F.e.
