About the Competition Are you creative and love to cook? Thinking about pursuing a career as a chef? Then you should enter the Hospitality Group Training Taste of the Future Competition presented by Oil2U. Turn your love for cooking into a career an opportunity to taste your future! You need equal parts of inspiration and education. Hospitality Group Training can guide you and support your talents towards a career as a chef. The Competition is open to all Year 11 and Year 12 students throughout Western Australia. Each school can enter one student to the Taste of the Future Competition. The top 8 finalists will be invited to take part in a cook-off judged by 3 of WA s top chefs. If you are selected for the top 8 you will have the opportunity to match your skills against others who share your passion and show WA what you can do. Prizes The prize for the winner is the Oil2U Chef Apprenticeship Scholarship valued at $5,500 worth of Training College fees. In addition cash prizes will be allocated as follows: First Prize Winner - $500 Second Prize Winner - $300 Third Prize Winner - $200 Fourth Prize Winner - $200 Fifth Prize Winner - $200 Schools attended by the top 5 finalists will also receive a $1000 voucher for kitchen / cooking equipment for their school. Entry requirements for HGT Taste of the Future Competition: To enter, you must be enrolled in a school in Western Australia, in year 11 or 12. You must have your parent s and school s consent. Please also read the competition rules and marking scheme located on our website http://www.hgtwa.com.au/news/taste-of-the-future-competition/competition-rules-and-markingscheme.aspx How to enter Complete the entry form provided and submit along with a maximum one page essay on why you want to be a chef including background information on yourself. Your submission should also include a photo of a dish you have cooked. Please note we receive many entries for this competition so you should make sure your essay stands out. How the competition will be run Judges will select finalists to participate in a cook off to be held at Belmont City College on 27/07/17 Rules and the sponsored product, which must be featured in the final dish, will be supplied to finalists one week before the cook off. Finalists will be able to create a dish of their preference and must include the sponsored product to be cooked on the day.
Risk Liability All risk and liability will be removed from the organisers jointly or individually and the organisers will not take responsibility for loss or damage of any nature associated with the competition. A waiver for photography and liability will be distributed accordingly.
