NORTH MEMORIAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION ECG Review 2018 ECG Review Is specifically designed to address a key knowledge gap in electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation. The American Heart Association s Adult ECG Course is a program focused on specific ECG recognition skills. This is a precourse option for ACLS students and other healthcare providers. Skills taught in the ECG module include heart anatomy, basic electrophysiology, normal ECG measurements and basic arrhythmias. The ECG & Pharmacology Review textbook is included in your fee. The course is conveniently scheduled on the first day of the ACLS Initial Course from 0800-1115. ACLS is designed for healthcare providers who direct, or participate in the resuscitation of patients either in or out of the hospital. The goal of this course is to improve the quality of care provided to adult victims of cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies by training to American Heart Association guidelines, algorithms and pharmaceutical intervention. Participants must commit to pre-course preparation & be skilled in basic dysrhythmia identification prior to the course. ACLS Provider Manual is required. NORTH MEMORIAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION ACLS Experienced Provider 2018 Advanced Cardiac Life Support Experienced Provider Is designed for experienced clinicians with prior training in ACLS. The course focus is the next step in ACLS training. This course provides a stimulus for expert clinicians and practitioners to identify areas in resuscitation that deal with special circumstances. The case based, small group sessions involve review of electrolyte abnormalities, toxicology, 12 lead ECG discussion, and cardiac arrest due to special causes. NORTH MEMORIAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION Advanced Trauma Life Support 2018 Initial & Refresher Advanced Trauma Life Support Is for physicians/physician extenders who treat victims of traumatic events. The ATLS course presents a concise systematic approach for evaluating & treating the trauma patient. Providing a scaffold for evaluation, prioritization, education & quality assurance. The goal of ATLS is to improve the outcomes of trauma patients by teaching established methods of trauma care. The American College of Surgeons (ACS) and its Committee on Trauma (COT) developed the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) program. At the conclusion of this program you will be able to: Assess the patient s condition rapidly and accurately. Resuscitate and stabilize the patient according to priority. Determine if the patient s needs exceed a facility s capacity. Arrange appropriately for the Patient s inter-hospital transfer (who, what, when, and how). Assure that optimum care is provided and that the level of care does not deteriorate at any point during the evaluation, resuscitation, or transfer process. NORTH MEMORIAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION Basic Life Support 2018 Initial and Update Basic Life Support Initial and Update Basic Life Support is based on scientific evidence from the 2015 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC. Updates are recommended every two years. The 4 hour initial or 2.5 hour update course covers the initial management of a cardiac arrest in the adult/child/ infant, proper use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) in the adult/child/infant as well as respiratory arrest, airway obstruction in the adult, child & infant. Participants have the opportunity to practice skills with an instructor before performing a practical evaluation. You will also be expected to take an open resource exam. Books are allowed in this exam. With successful completion of both the practical & written tests, you will receive a current AHA card.
