Editor s talks Mahasarakham University have been moving our missions to become a shelter for the community. We proud to present the activities in this period which correlated with this mission as follows. In this issue, we would like to present the academic service model for community which launch as university projects. For instance, development of entrepreneurship, community problem and survey of community requirements, academic service for art & culture development, and teaching academic service in classroom. In addition, we presented development program for researchers in a project of research training. We concluded the result of our activities in this issue and illustrated some details in our project in the first half of 2017. National science technology and innovation policy office visited project food Innopolist at Mahasarakham University Prof. Sampan Rittidech (President of Mahasarakham University) On the 26 th June 2560, Prof. Sampan Rittidech (President of Mahasarakham University) and university industry cooperation center staffs had a warm welcome visitors from national science technology and innovation policy office (STI) leads by Asst.Prof.Dr.Akkharawit Kanjanaopas ( act for vice-secreatary of STI and CEO of food innopolis program) On that day, the guests visited food innopolist project in Mahasarakham University and had speech about ministry policy. After that, Mr. Kanjanaopas have discussed with MSU president about the food and agricul- tural research of Mahasarakham University. The MSU president presented the overall Science park project and readiness of the institution in the University as well as the requirements of the entrepreneur in this area. The 9 th National Conference of university academic support staffs During the 30th March 1st April 2017 department of research dissemination attended the 9th National Conference of university academic support staffs at Chaloem Rajakumari 60 Building, Chulalongkorn University. This conference organized by association of academic support staffs with good support from research association and Council of University Administrative Staff of Thailand. The purpose of the conference was sustainable development of research learning in administrative staffs in all universities in Thailand. Department of research dissemination visited presentations and exhibitions in the conference. Field trip observation on the duty of finding problem and community needs at Ban Na Mueang, Na Kha, Wapipathum, Maha Sarakham on 3 rd July 2017 3rd July 2017, Technology clinic cooperated with the ministry of science and technology and dean faculty of architecture went to the field trip at Ban Na Mueang, Na Kha, Wapipathum, Maha Sarakham for the project Organic farming in the digital era for helping flood and drought victims and also celebrated 60 years birthday for Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali r e s e a r c h. m s u. a c. t h 6 I Newsletter Divistion of Research Facilitation and Dissemination (DRFD) Mahasarakham University

Compilation of Art&Culture preservation and development program One faculty one art&culture program have been followed by our staff during January- March 2017. The activities in this mission were 7 projects. There are 1) Traditional molding by using clay anvil and molding product from snails shell. 2) Contemporary drama for youth conscious mind by folk tales. 3) Dinosaur straw puppet 4) local ceremony dissemination project : case of Kwai Ha ceremony in Rocket festival, Chiang Khwan, Roi Et. 5) Bun Pha Wet development project in Ban Kham Thaow. 6) The second Moon Mung Bang Fai Sil which held at 29th March 2017. 7) Standardization project for Madmi silk in Mahasarakham. O n the 5th January 2017, Asst. Prof. Chanthana Wech-O- and MSU staffs had a field trip to Lao dok Mai municipal area. Mr. Jaras Chin-Hueang, president of Sub-district Administration Organization, and staffs had a warm welcome. He discussed about their community and the community needs. After that, the meeting were held in a topic exchanged ideas about cooperation between university and community. The Lao Dok Mai community was the successful model for garbage management. However, Lao Dok Mai community also needs helps from university including drug addicted, elder problem, and renewable energy. After meeting, they summed up and planned to conduct three projects. There are 1) elder people development 2) Kok Kao wild development and 3) biogas development Those 3 projects will be launch in 3 different areas which under operation of Mahasarakham University academic services for community. Furthermore, this is the first area based field trip which applied multidisciplinary research for effective community development.

O n the 19th January 2017, division of research facilitation and dissemination Mahasarakham University held a meeting in a topic budget disbursment procedures for academic service project and Art& Culture conservatives and development in the year 2017. The meeting was introduced by Assoc. Prof. Prayook Srivilai, vice-president 12 for planning and special affairs. After that, Mr.Palawat Patsen Head of division of finance and facility discussed in this topic in details. The faculty of humanities and social sciences has opened one program one community course for semester 2/2016. The course owned by general of education. The purpose of this course is to make the students know about one program one community program and cases study. Therefore, on the 27th january 2017, Mrs. Chaweewan Ak-kasesthang, director of division of research facilitation and dissemination Mahasarakham University, and staffs held a meeting in a topic case study of one program one community. After that, for moral improvement the staffs has invited Mr. Chavanakorn chanthanawej, the author of community intellectual people song. He shared about his passion and his songs, then discussed about how the program related to the community and learnings. Another topic was the role of division of research facilitation and dissemination MSU, discussed by Mrs. Watchaya Onnangyai. The division distibuted funds for researchers to do this job. M r. Banjong Burinprakon and Mr.Preecha Sribunsed performed video about passion and case study for one program one community. Summary of the project Research Training for Mahasarasakham University researchers By Division of research facilitation and dissemination Mahasarakham University On the 11 th January 2017, Division of research facilitation and dissemination Mahasarakham University held the 9th Research Training for Mahasarasakham University researchers at Silk innovation center on 4.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. The objectives of this project was to develop researchers in MSU and also become fit with the global standard. The subordinate objective was to make a good relationship among MSU staffs. Prof. Pairot Pramual (Assistant president for research) On that day, the 82 attendances were lecturers and researchers from Mahasarakham University. The workshop were conducted by 2 qualified professional, there are Assoc. Prof. Pairot Pramual (Assistant president for research) and Assoc. Prof. Kiattisak Sripratheep (Director of general of education).

O n the 26th June 2017, Division of research facilitation and dissemination Mahasarakham University held a 5th meeting with academic service staffs in the year 2017. The topic was about funding for academic service project in 2018. The meeting was held at silk innovation center meeting room. The principal speaker was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prayook Srivilai. The subject matter for this meeting are as follows: 1. A summary for academic service project funding for the year 2017 2. The development of Acedemic service staffs 3. Funding for academic service project 2017

Phadung Naree School, Sarakhampittayakhom School visited university farm, Borabue Wittaykhan School On the 16 th June 2017, the total 90 students with their teacher from Phadung Naree School, Sarakhampittayakhom School and Borabue Wittaykhan School visited university farm. On that day, staffs from university farm conducted small workshop with fun activities including milking, insemination, baby pig handling, and agro-tourism activities.
