Applications should clearly identify outcome measures and metrics evaluating them, and should describe the relevance of the project and how the grant money will help bring the project to completion and publication over the next 6-12 months. The term of the project should be specified. This award is open to faculty and research fellows in the MGH of Medicine, or faculty from other departments who have a collaborator in the MGH of Medicine actively engaged in the project. Other members of the team may be affiliates of other departments, or other MGH institutions. Eligible applicants may request $5,000-$10,000; awards above this will require special justification and review for need. ELIGIBILITY Applicants must have a full-time MGH/MGPO appointment at the faculty or research fellow level within the of Medicine at the time of application and during the entire award period. An Educator can submit multiple applications; however, there should be no duplication of effort, budget or goals in applications submitted by an Educator for this funding. Applicants must make a commitment to participate actively and regularly in the monthly meetings of the Center for Educational Innovation and Scholarship. AWARD EXPENDITURES AND START DATE The funds may be used for salaries and fringe benefits for educators, trainees and/or key personnel; supplies, equipment and other essential items for the project, provided that the specific personnel and items are identified in the approved budget at the time of the grant award. Funding will begin 30 days after the notice of award and will continue for the length of the term identified in the application. The proposed project should be completed within 12 months, although a no cost extension can be requested if needed to complete data analysis and submission for publication Award recipients will be required to present work in progress at one of the CEIS monthly meetings, and are expected to publish their results and present findings at relevant conferences.
