Register to attend on Monday, Tuesday, or. Written Test Taking Board Review Boot Camp 7:30 8:00 am Networking Continental Breakfast Essentials of Addiction Medicine The CDC has identified opioid dependence as an epidemic currently affecting all areas of the United States. There are more people dying yearly in the US from overdose than motor vehicle accidents. This has resulted in part from the prescribing practices of physicians in the use of these medication. There are indicators of the development of both mental health and substance use problems that if identified early can impact the progression of the disease. It is important for the primary care health professional to have an understanding of these indicators. Following the development for the illness there are many problems that can be cared for in primary care. However, there is a shortage of health professionals with knowledge, skill, and experience in this field. Essentials of Addiction Medicine is designed to provide up-to-date data and practice techniques for basic addiction treatment. It will provide basic, fundamental clinically oriented teaching that would be essential to all family physicians. The ACOFP Test Taking Skills Boot Camp is open to osteopathic and allopathic family physicians preparing for their Board examinations. The course is designed for residents and graduate family physicians who want to update their skills and knowledge in preparation for their written Board Certification or Recertification examinations. The goal is to help improve study and test taking skills utilizing high-yield study techniques. Test question approaches as well as interactive audience responses while working toward the desired answers will also be incorporated.
